Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! We hope you all had wonderful holidays.
There's nothing like experiencing the wonder of Christmas through the eyes of a child, and we were thrilled to celebrate our baby boy's first Christmas at home with our families this year. We hosted Christmas Eve dinner at our house which is becoming a favorite tradition, and spent the day cooking up a festive feast, from the beef tenderloin and Christmas salad to Turkish delight and an incredible bûche de noël from our favorite bakery in town, it was a very merry evening. (Full menu below - which fed 8 including one vegan. :) We always open one present on Christmas Eve and it's always a new pair of Christmas pajamas, which was especially fun to add a tiny pair for the baby. Christmas morning we were up before the sun (as usual) to see what Santa brought - including a smart little radio flyer walking wagon and spinning Santa top. (Unsurprisingly, the ribbons and ornaments were just as enticing as the actual presents.) Having a baby makes reading the Christmas story about the birth of Jesus even more amazing, and we're looking forward to future celebrations, when he can start to understand and appreciate the true meaning of Christmas.
