February Mood – Valentine’s Day Gifts
Valentine's Day is coming up quickly and I always look forward to this cheery holiday each winter. My second date with David was actually on Valentine's Day, and I'm always warmed by the memories of that magical evening. Seven years later our celebrations are a bit more subdued, however we still love to make the extra effort to mark the day and do something special. This year I like the sound of a fondue dinner at home with a perfectly paired bottle of wine. We've been talking about getting a fondue set for some time and making it a gift to each other combined with a memorable meal hits just the right note! (This one is beautiful, and this one's a great deal and this one is a future heirloom!) A fondue dinner would work equally well for a Galentine's Day party, as fondue is always so fun and interactive and most sets come with six skewers! I picked out this coat which just went on sale and this matching cashmere sweater for Valentine's day, paired with a white wool skirt, and am contemplating these flats in pink to go with them. (I already own the flats in black and they are so comfortable. Last seen here.)
Whether you give lavish or simple tokens of affection, I've rounded up some favorite pieces below from my own closet and kitchen. A few gift ideas include the perfect nail polish to brighten her day (the color "Gitane" is all I wear) , the softest alpaca scarf for the polar vortex, a shiny new pot for evenings spent cooking together, or a passport cover to take along on all of 2019's adventures.
