Game Night In
Thank you for all the card game recommendations! We ended up playing Gin Rummy and I'm a big fan now because I won the first three games. ; ) I've compiled the most recommended games at the bottom of this post (and linked to rules of play!) in case you are also looking for something new to play on day 2,743 of quarantine.
More style posts (and what I'm wearing day to day) was my number one request from my recent IG survey, and I'm happy to oblige. I appreciate every request and saved them all in a massive spreadsheet to pull from when writing future blog posts. Thanks so much to take the time to write in!
So here's a peek at an everyday look. Cropped pants and a sweater are a timeless combination loved by the Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn for lounging around the house. Both of the pieces I'm wearing (kindly gifted from Brooks Brothers) are supremely comfortable and really flattering. David remarked that my sweater was very grandmillenial, and he doesn't even realize how spot on that description is because if you look closely the embroidered flowers are cross-stitched!
I want to start explaining more of my style philosophy, and one style rule I abide by is if a piece has decorative details/embellishment it need to be on both the front and back of the item. When a piece only has embellishment on the front it feels like the manufacturer was cutting corners, and often makes the item look cheap. I love that this little sweater even has the embroidery on the sleeves, which makes it feel much more elevated than it's $62 price tag. (Matching cardigan can be found here!) I've been in a blue period for several months (if you look over my Instagram feed it's very apparent) so while this sweater and cropped trousers aren't exactly basics, I know they'll coordinate with many other pieces in my wardrobe.
