Seasons Greetings with Crane Stationery
In partnership with Crane Stationery
The holidays are here and it’s the one month of the year that I check my mailbox every day, eager to discover beautiful cards from the people we love all around the world. As someone who clearly loves photographs I always look forward to seeing how our friends and their families have grown, and refreshing the physical snapshots we have of them tucked around our apartment. Our own holiday cards feel extra special this year because I had the opportunity to visit one of my favorite heritage brands in the Berkshires to see them being made at Crane Stationery’s factory!
Beautiful stationery has always been a favorite little luxury and I’ve had Crane correspondence and calling cards ever since graduating from college. I was thrilled when they reached out about partnering to celebrate the launch of their new holiday photo card collection, which includes digitally printed cards on their beautiful textured papers with the option of adding foil or letterpress designs. It was hard to pick just one style from their many options so they let me choose two (this metallic foil card with dual bars and this radiant star letterpress card) so I could see both the foil and letterpress processes while visiting their factory. (Make sure you’re following along with my Instagram stories later today to see the whole process from start to finish!)
While they offer color printing I liked the timeless elegance of using a black and white photograph at the center of each card. The quality of the paper is just gorgeous - nice and thick and always made of 100% cotton. I love how both designs turned out but really swoon over the double thick paper used for this radiant star design which has a full frame image on one side and gorgeous texture embossed on the reverse side - which I was able to watch them create on a 100 year old letter press!
Half are in the mail and I’m looking forward to a night in with Christmas music, a roaring fire, and eggnog to finish writing the other half! Happy holidays everyone! xx, SF
