Murrieta’s Well The Spur

Murrietas Well Winery The Spur 2013 Red blend Wine
Murrietas Well The Spur Wine Pairing-16
MURRIETA'S WELL THE SPUR 2013 Varietal Notes: 40% Petite Sirah, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, 8% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 8% Malbec One of our favorite all-around red wines comes from my hometown of Livermore, CA! Ever since visiting Murrieta's Well for a tasting we've been enjoying their unique red-blend called The Spur with everything from casual grilled favorites to pairing it with this, this, and this for an autumn-inspired dinner party we hosted for our friends. Wine Spectator recently awarded The Spur's 2013 vintage a 91 point rating - which proves it's an amazing value for the price point at $30 a bottle. The winemaker, Robbie Meyer, says:
The Spur 2013 is crafted from blending the classic Bordeaux varietals with a Petite Sirah foundation and offers a distinctively California expression. Each varietal is farmed, harvested, and handcrafted individually to achieve their greatest expression. Beautiful fruit aromas of black cherry and blueberry are highlighted by subtle notes of sweet oak and earthy spice. A ripe tannic structure and balanced acidity make this wine perfect by itself or paired with your favorite recipes from the grill.
