Packing for a Long Weekend in London

I’m off to London for a long weekend break to celebrate the launch of Sarah Flint’s newest collection and to hopefully attend Henley assuming the rain holds off! I also have plans to revisit the Wallace Collection, see the Crown to Couture exhibit at Kensington Palace, and eat some amazing Indian food (my one must-do every time I’m in London!) In contrast to what I packed for Italy, I’m only bringing a tote and carry on for this 4 day 4 night trip. Wish me luck!

Dresses

  • This brown and white J.Crew cotton dress to pair with a cream belt (only $108!)
  • This brown and white Erdem floral shirtdress (one left!)
  • This green floral Erdem fit and flare dress
  • This white tiered Tuckernuck cotton sundress to cinch with a belt
  • My favorite Theory cream tweed shift dress that you all went nuts for! (on major sale!)
  • A pleated gingham sundress (old)
  • This red cotton Banana Republic Factory shift dress (only $50!)

Shoes – City breaks always mean lots of walking so I’m packing my most comfortable yet stylish shoes.

  • Sarah Flint gold block heels for dinners but they are so comfortable I can walk miles in them
  • Sarah Flint brown suede ballet flats for the plane and lots of walking
  • Saint Laurent cream sandals

Bags

  • My Mark Cross raffia top handle bag (old, love the chocolate version here)
  • This brown leather and straw bag from Miu Miu
  • A white wicker Aerin clutch

Tops

  • This J.Crew striped summer cardigan (will wear on the plane with the tee shirt below)
  • A J.Crew cream cashmere tee

Jacket

Miscellaneous

  • These darling gingham pajamas from By. Merryn (a UK brand)
  • Prada tortoise sunglasses
  • A thin cream Altuzarra belt (mine is old but similar here)
  • A thick brown croc belt from Sarah Flint
  • Classic 9mm pearl earrings

Sounds fabulous! I hear Six is brilliant….I think your bit of free time should squeeze that one in! Would love to hear in a future post about how you prepare and survive international flights over.

Would love to see some antique shops if you go. Can’t wait to hear about the couture show at Kensington!

My husband just returned from London raving about Brigadiers (near St. Paul’s) for higher end Indian. The video he sent of the serving of the biryani looked amazing. Patio seating also means you do not walk away smelling of the food. 😉

Oh they’re a sister restaurant to my favorite (Gymkhana) so I bet they’re amazing! We have reservations at Bibi (also in the same restaurant group). Having Indian is always a must in London! xx

    Hi Stacie,

While in London, if you find yourself in Sloane Square / Belgravia, I’d recommend a meal at The Thomas Cubitt -it’s a lovely (sophisticated) pub & British restaurant or alternatively La Poule au Pot, a romantic French restaurant (both have delightful outdoor seating). Southeast along the Thames, Tate Modern features an Hilma af Klint & Piet Mondrian exhibition and there is also the Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirror Rooms (though finding a ticket is quite hard). If you do go to Tate Modern it’s worth walking along the river, over Tower Bridge and to St Katherine’s Docks which is a beautiful historic marina, super close to the Tower of London. I imagine you have already done this walk, as it a classic, but in case you haven’t, it’s worth it. Anyway, Henley is super fun, hope the weather holds!

    Enjoy!

I was in London at Christmas and loved tea at Claridges, where I stayed. I”m dying to see the new Raffles Hotel at the OWO and dine at Cafe LaPerouse. You might want to check it out and let us know what you think! I also enjoyed shopping at Selfridges and of course Harrods where there is a Prada Cafe this year.
