Return to Martha’s Vineyard

Stacie Flinner x Winnetu Marthas Vineyard Guide-6.jpg

As we look forward to warmer weather David and I have been reminiscing about all the magical places we can’t wait to return to this summer. During my grammar school years my family visited Martha’s Vineyard several times and I always loved the colorful Victorians in Oak Bluffs from those early trips, but Edgartown is the side of the island that really has my heart. Last summer my friend Steph flew out for a few days of exploring this beautiful place and it’s the perfect destination for romantic getaways, girls trips, and family vacations alike.

There are surprisingly few hotels on the vineyard and (even fewer that can be called resorts) but The Winnetu has everything you could possibly want in an island getaway. This family-owned gem on South Beach is a destination in-and-of-itself. Set on 11 acres, the Winnetu is tuned into nature blending the island’s iconic architecture with their natural surroundings. The handsome cedar shake buildings boast rooms overlooking the coastline and are just a short walk to the beach. A large pool serving perfect martinis is wonderful for catching rays, the tennis courts are great for getting active, fresh baked cookies appear every afternoon and there’s always a shuttle ready should you want to pop into town. When in town a few favorites include: lunch at Behind the Bookstore, drinks at Bettina’s and dinner at L’Etoile. If you’re up for some shopping my favorites are Past and Presents (amazing British antiques!) and J.McLaughlin for chic resort wear.  The Vineyard is low-key and relaxing, and a must on any summer New England bucket list!

So loved seeing this. Family has a home on the vineyard and they live there year round. Pictures of warmer weather and familiarity with the restaurants you mentioned made me feel like summer is just around the corner even tho9ugh its March! Love your style, thanks for the nod to beautiful classics.
