Last week I stopped by the SF Decorator Showcase to soak up some inspiration. This year’s event was held at the beautiful Villa de Martini in Telegraph Hill near Coit tower, which boasts European gardens and panoramic views of all three Bay Area bridges. I love visiting showhouses because the designers’ unique points of view really shine through – fully expressing themselves and their vision for a space.
Stephan Jones Interiors’s design for the ground floor study was an instant favorite. Besides choosing a favorite color combination of mine (french blue and camel), he nailed layering patterns and textures, creating a cozy and as he likes to say “honest” living space. The standout piece is of course the placed print sofa, covered in Zak + Fox’s Linen Khaden Himalaya fabric, which is modeled after a highly sought after style of Tibetan tiger carpet. I would scoop up the sofa and the camel leather chair in a heartbeat. If you don’t have a dedicated study in your home, this room’s layout could easily be tweaked to function as a combined living-dining room for entertaining dinner guests by centering the desk on the gallery wall and gathering a few more chairs around the table.
