I love having mementos of my travels around the house, but for some reason David and I struggle to bring souvenirs back from our trips together. Often times we're on the plane home and realize Oh, we didn't go back to that shop for that thing!, then decide it's for the better because it wouldn't have fit in our luggage anyway. However, when we decided to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary in Paris I knew I'd want something special to commemorate the occasion, and didn't want to leave things to chance given our track record.
I discovered Paris-based photographer and all-around sweetheart, Katie Mitchell, through one of my favorite fashion bloggers, and reached out to her about doing a portrait session. Our time wandering around the Jardin des Tuileries with Katie turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! She has a talent for making you feel instantly at ease in front of the camera, and despite being in one of the busiest parks in Paris, she knew all the right places to shoot to make it look like we had the city all to ourselves.
I can’t believe it’s already been over a year since we were in Paris! We’re excited that in addition to a set of beautiful photos we found a new friend in the process, and can’t wait to explore the beautiful landscapes around Marin with Katie while she’s in town this week. À bientôt!

Addendum - A few months after we met Katie, our friends Nathan and Ashley decided to capture their daughter's first trip to Paris as well. Ashley just sent over some photos from their time shooting with Katie and they are too cute not to share! (With Ashley's permission of course!)
