A First Look at Fall

It’s hard to believe, but there are already a few trees starting to turn in New Hampshire, and suddenly I’m craving autumnal hues and rich textures. As I look forward to the season ahead I’m refreshing my fall wardrobe with a few key pieces from Saks Fifth Avenue. Short Sleeved Sweaters: I love a short-sleeved sweater and lean on them a lot during transitional months in autumn and springtime, as well as layer them under blazers in the winter months. This turtleneck feels very Audrey Hepburn, and the rich burgundy hue is universally flattering. (It also comes in black!) I also love this less expensive pointelle option for topping off skirts and high waisted trousers alike.
Midi Skirts: The ultimate in versatile skirts, wear yours with chic heels now, and slim-fitting boots when the weather gets colder. I love the burgundy and cream palette on this skirt which can be brightened with cream accessories or play up it’s moodier side with a burgundy sweater.
Tortoise Accessories: These tortoise slingback heels are the versatile heel you didn’t know you need. The tortoise patent leather features a variety of warm autumnal hues which easily pair with black, brown, navy, olive or burgundy ensembles. (Or white or tan or blush. I could go on!) The kitten heel height and minimal design elongates your legs and looks great with skirts, cropped or full length trousers and denim.
A bold earring: A statement earring is one of the easiest ways to update your look for the coming season and I love the organic shape of this pair of gold hoops. If pearls are more your thing I love these baroque pearl studs!
