A Really Good Chambray Shirtdress
Tuckernuck has been on fire with must-have collaborations this year and their collection in partnership with tastemaker India Hicks just might be my favorite yet. This chambray dress, inspired by Grace Kelly, features a (very!) full skirt and cinched waist with an oversized belt. (I swapped in my favorite Sarah Flint belt to match my heels.) The voluminous skirt creates such a flattering silhouette and moves beautifully as you walk. And note the subtle drop sleeve which feels unexpected and modern. (Plus it has POCKETS!)
Made of 100% cotton with a beautiful, refined weave and slight sheen, it looks like an Emilia Wickstead dress, but for 1/6 the price. (I'd say the color is most accurate in my photos, and not as bright blue as it looks on Tuckernuck's site photos.) It looks fab with a matching belt and heel combo like I'm wearing in these photos, but would work beautifully with the self belt and leopard heels or this jacquard floral pump now and then pointed toe boots in winter.
You can never go wrong with a denim dress in an elegant silhouette, it walks the line between casual and dressy, perfect for when you don't quite know what to wear for an event. India says it best: “This is a dress for arrivals and departures - perfect for a memorable look for your next afternoon luncheon or evening client dinner." And trust me, you need this dress.
