Berry Picking in Tuckernuck
This past weekend we stopped by a local farm to pick our own produce. I've been wanting to support our local farmers more and have been visiting the Portsmouth farmers market pretty regularly this summer but this was a magical pick-your-own experience. We went to Blueberry Bay Farm (Thank you to Sara for the recommendation!) which is chemical free/no-spray farm and has everything from tomatoes to berries to cut-your-own flower beds. We filled a couple pints with blackberries and brought home some beautiful heads of garlic. They operate on the honor system so you weigh your produce and leave your details in a box, and they contact you for payment later. Feels old-fashioned in the best way possible! I'm planning to make a cobbler with the berries this week and can't wait to go back.
I wore one of my favorite dresses for the outing, and can't say enough good things about this dress from Tuckernuck. Aside from its flattering silhouette and elegant drape - the cotton air-dries beautifully. I didn't iron this dress, I just let it air dry straight out of the washing machine on a hanger and it's practically wrinkle free! The style works for so many occassions - I've worn it in Saint Tropez and Tuscany, as well as berry picking and at church back at home! The waistline has a smocked panel at the back ensuring it nips you at the waist, but is still very comfortable, and the front has covered snaps which makes it great for breastfeeding if you're in that stage of life. Perhaps best of all, it just went on sale for the first time all summer. Just a few sizes left so highly recommend scooping this one up - especially since it's on sale! (I'm wearing my normal size, but it's very fitted so if you have a bigger chest/shoulders you might want to size up.)
Tuckernuck just added a bunch of new styles to their sale, and I’ve rounded up some of my favorite deals on fall/winter pieces below!
- The chloe dress might just be their most popular style, it works well for everything from the office, to events, and everything in between! I own and love their lavender version and there are several colors on sale here!
- I love the chocolate border and wildflower print on this silk scarf. Wear it draped around your neck with a cozy sweater, denim and a classic trench. The perfect transitional accessory!
- I admired this bow dress last holiday season and it’s finally on sale! I believe it’s inspired by an Oscar de la Renta dress, but a much more wallet friendly price. Just add black heels!
- The dusty pink floral on this dress makes it perfect for four season wear, and it’s available in a shorter version as well!
- I like pairing statement skirts with coordinating sweaters in a solid color and this green floral skirt is such a fun autumn/winter floral. (Wear with heels in autumn and boots in winter!)
- For those that like to plan ahead: scoop up this tinsel mini for your holiday parties. (Love the heels they styled with it too!)
- Tuckernuck makes this skirt in several different prints and fabrics and I love this pale pink cane print. It’s easy to transition to autumn with a cozy beige sweater and suede heels.
- This black shift dress is perfect for the office or just looking chic while running around town. Add a slim fitting turtleneck and sheer black tights when the temps drop!
- Only a few left but I love this this jacquard mini for autumn parties! (50% off!)
- This lux chocolate shirtdress is the perfect summer to fall piece!
- I’m not normally one for puff sleeves but the styling on this black dress is very chic.
- This gray flannel tote is a chic companion for your fall getaways!
