Crochet Crush

Last week David and I took a short trip to Boca Grande in Florida to meet up with some friends at the Gasparilla Inn. The balmy days called for time lounging on the beach and I packed one of my favorite new crochet coverups for the trip. Summer crochet has a uniquely effortless allure: open-worked cotton weaves invite every seaside breeze, sun-washed colors catch the light, and the artful knits flash just enough skin to feel daring while keeping you comfortably covered. From lacy dresses to bohemian handbags, these pieces prove that crochet can be as refreshing as a spritz on a hot afternoon—light, breathable, and irresistibly chic.

  • My lime green dress above is a surprise hit on vacation. A lightweight but flattering knit works as a coverup then effortlessly transitions to the beach bar for lunch. The varied weaves feel very elevated and I love how it moves as you walk. (This dress has a similar look but different silhouette and I also love this one!)
  • While we're on the topic of green, I love a green bag and this one adds a happy pop of color to any outfit.
  • These knotted raffia heels add a chic touch to any outfit. (Love the black and natural!)
  • I own and love this crochet tunic dress. So easy to wear yet elegant, pair with flat sandals and your favorite tote!
  • I'm wishing I had this oversized tote for our trip to Italy.
  • This burnt orange crochet dress is stunning over a swimsuit.
  • I own and love this bag - you can throw a ton inside.
  • A nubby crochet knit makes this hobo style bag a chic addition to summer's blue and white ensembles.
  • Pair these crochet slides with all your summer shirtdresses or linen pants.
  • Sweet and an easy throw-on-and-go piece, this crochet mini dress just says "summer!"
  • I'm packing this tiered midi skirt (on sale!) for Italy to throw on over swimsuits.
  • Bucket hats are a chic way to keep the sun off your face and I love this crochet version paired with a breton top and white linen trousers.
  • This sweater is a wardrobe staple, perfect for throwing on with white shorts or tying over your shoulders for crisp evenings.
  • A very affordable take on the crochet dress, I own and love this one, and plan to wear with these flats this summer.
  • Looks like Missoni, but much more affordable.
  • This dress is begging to come with you on your next island vacation.
  • These crochet espadrilles are a chic and comfy way to add interest to your outfit. (Would look chic paired with this striped tote!)
