I took these photos as the first in a series of decor updates I’ve been planning for this month. Given recent events, I’ve been holding many blog posts in draft, unsure of how to talk about international destinations we cannot travel to, and potentially frivolous luxuries when many are tightening their belts. But earlier this week a New Jersey Nurse on the front lines of the pandemic messaged me requesting more posts because she and her teammates enjoy reading this blog as a little escape from their current reality. So I’m clicking “publish” hoping that whatever you come to this blog for whether it’s an escape, inspiration, distraction, entertainment you’ll continue to find it here.
Last month Serena & Lily kindly invited me to pick some of my favorite pieces from their new collection to add to our space and they arrived right before we moved to our family shore house for quarantine. While most of the home projects I had planned for this month are on hold, I wanted to share this little bit of progress from what has quickly become my favorite space in our home.
I’ve loved using wicker and rattan indoors for ages. I remember carefully selecting a wicker chair for my high school bedroom, and using baskets to organize my college dorm room. Every space can benefit from a touch of this natural material, which strikes the perfect balance between polished and relaxed making even the most tailored rooms look lived in. One of my favorite sources for natural decor is Serena & Lily, whose coastal collection always hits the right note. Our bedroom has a very tailored feel and I love how adding this standing mirror (inspired by a 1940’s French antique) and this armchair loosens up the vibe. It’s nice to find a big chair with a surprisingly light look due to the open weave. Just add a throw pillow or seat cushion for a cozy spot to lounge with a good book. We also added this beautiful rug recently, which brightens up the space and is so soft underfoot. The light, solid color highlights the design of the chair beautifully.
If you’re looking to cozy up your space while staying at home, a few other favorites from Serena and Lily include: this rattan bar cart to upgrade your at home cocktail hours (last seen here and here), and pretty tabletop pieces like these gingham napkins and these rattan placemats make at home dining feel special(last seen here) . Everything on their site is currently 20% off with code “at home” to make feathering your nest a little bit easier.
When we are back to normal I look forward to hanging this chandelier in our living room (installed with this gorgeous ceiling medallion) and unrolling this new custom rug in the living room, hanging wallpaper in the entry and continuing to be grateful for all the little moments we create together at home.

Thank you for this.
I too look forward to your amazing posts as a way to escape from the current craziness and to dream.

I discovered you through a Matouk email. Your comments on your choice for the bedroom hit home for me. I am following you on IG now. One question – can you tell me where you found the bedroom table/nightstand? It is exactly what I have been looking for albeit perhaps less width. I have a constraint on width of nightstand. I have a four poster and prefer something other than wood. The antique/brushed brass look seems right. Thank you

Hi Nancy! So glad you found me through Matouk! This is the link to my nightstand. I’ve had a pair of them for ~5 years and love how visually light they are! xx Stacie
Hi Stacie! I work for Uttermost and noticed your nightstand almost immediately. It looks fantastic and inspired me to purchase 2 for my own bedroom. Love following along to see your interior style, everything is beautiful!
Hi Stacie! You have impeccable style and I love your paint choices. You inspired me to do Calke Green in my living room. I was hoping to find out what blue paint you have in your bedroom, and was curious if you have Farrow&Ball Paint In your kitchen as well? If so what color? Thank you!

Hi Amy! I have Parma Gray (pale blue) in our bedroom and Pigeon (a greenish gray) on the walls in our kitchen (would look great on cabinets too!) Love them both so much! Love that you used calke green in your living room! Can you send me pictures?! [email protected]. xx Stacie
Thank you Stacie for your reply! I ordered a sample of pigeon and it looks dreamy! I’d love to know what color your cabinets are? Once we get everything finished I will send pictures. I am excited to spruce up our home with new paint and have been on a decorating kick lately. I really enjoy following you and thank you for the inspiration. ☺️
