Endless Summer at Mishaum Point
Today’s post is a sentimental photo diary from a long weekend on Buzzards Bay, spent with our friends Sarah Flint and her family. We’ve been lucky enough to return to their beach house for the past few summers, and each visit feels like a welcome step back in time—a little slower, simpler, and wonderfully removed from the everyday.
The setting is part of the magic: a bit remote, with wide-open land dotted with weathered shingled houses, a community garden, and farm stands supplying everything else you might need for dinner at home. Our days unfolded at an easy pace, with a boat ride to Cuttyhunk for breakfast, mornings at the beach, swims off the dock, and long afternoons spent letting the children play together. (It really is the best having friends with children of a similar age!)
One evening, we dressed up for Sarah’s birthday dinner. The children made a birthday cake with Sarah's mom while Sarah’s dad cooked the most memorable steak dinner. Her 92 year old grandmother regaled us with family stories, and the whole evening had that rare feeling of being both wonderfully simple and entirely special.
It’s easy to see why this place has inspired Sarah’s summer collection. The landscape and its traditions seem woven throughout—from the little Beetle Cat sailboat on her silk scarves, to the classic linen stripe on her heels, and an elevated take on the timeless boat shoe. Pieces that feel as at home by the water as they do anywhere else.
I hope the photos below fill you with calm, and perhaps a little outfit inspiration for your own late summer trips. xx
