Everything I Packed for a Week in the Bahamas

With over a foot of snow on the ground at home we're excited to escape for a week of winter sun! This will be our second trip to Harbour Island in the Bahamas, we went last year when our son was only 3 months old and loved it! It's is a very baby friendly destination and we're excited to enjoy warm weather, pink sand beaches and turquoise waters! I'm planning to wear dresses almost exclusively on this trip and bringing a mix of longer midi and maxi styles for evening and mini dress/shift styles for day. A lot of these can do double duty as bathing suit coverups when paired with sandals, or work for a nice dinner if paired with heels at night. (I love that people really dress for dinner on the island.) Everything fits in my luggage set  (one checked bag and one carry on) and my canvas duffle. I hope you find something fun for your next warm weather escape!

Win a Loewe Tote! ✨ I’m giving away one Loewe Paula’s Ibiza woven tote to celebrate the perfect packing list for a dream getaway! The winner will be announced on Instagram and my newsletter when we're back from our trip, so be sure you're subscribed to both and stay tuned. ✈️🌴

Here's Everything I packed for a week in the Bahamas!

Dresses:

  • This blue floral linen dress is super flattering and great for a dinner date.
  • I love the paisley embroidery on this coral caftan, which is perfect for a day at the beach and transitions beautifully to dinner with a pair of heels.
  • An easy yet elegant smocked maxi dress you can style 100 different ways.
  • A little ricrack chambray number for morning coffee runs.
  • A sunny yellow caftan for throwing on over a swimsuit.
  • I love that this green floral shirtdress can be thrown over a bikini for a warm weather getaway or be work with espadrilles for weekends at home.
  • So chic and vintage, I love the silhouette of this block print dress.
  • A cute little crochet tunic dress for an afternoon shopping around town.
  • This easy neutral eyelet sundress is just asking for a statement bag and strappy sandal.
  • I got this shell print dress last summer and it's beautifully made, and perfect for seaside escapes.
  • Every woman needs an easy white shift dress in their wardrobe and this is it!
  • The back detail on this white maxi dress is so fun. A breezy option with endless accessorizing possibilities.
  • This lavender maxi dress is substantial and perfect for a cooler night.

Tops:

  • This embroidered linen top has the most beautiful paisley detail, I'm planning on throwing it on over a bikini or pairing with the matching pants for lunch.
  • This oversized shirt makes a great bathing suit coverup. Just pop the collar and scrunch the sleeves!
  • Sweaters in the tropics might seem unnecessary but I always pack a few to wear on the plane and throw over my shoulders at dinner. I'm bringing this cotton mockneck and this ice blue cashmere crewneck. (Leaving the matching pants behind but love them!) and this yacht blue cashmere that I'm wearing in my packing reel!
  • I've been loving these tank tops for laying under sweaters or throwing on with linen trousers and packed the white and navy versions.
  • I'm obsessed with this beautiful green and white cardigan - throw it over your shoulders at dinner or wear as a top with white linen pants!

Bottoms:

  • I've been eyeing this statement basket weave skirt for a year or two and finally scored it on sale. Perfect over a one piece swimsuit for lunch by the water.
  • These navy linen trousers feature gorgeous embroidery and are the perfect throw on and go piece that looks like you made an effort but are truly effortless. (Runs a tad small).
  • White bottoms are a vacation staple and I'm wearing these white jeans (size up) for the flight down and this linen pair for beach days.

Bags:

  • This beautiful tote is a splurge but it's the perfect size for carrying beach essentials. I used it a ton last summer and am excited to give it away to two of you! (Enter on Instagram here.)
  • This ladylike wicker handbag holds a lot.
  • The woven clutch with a heart clasp is the perfect dinner companion. If you only pack one evening bag this one goes with anything.
  • I was on the fence about this rope tote at first but it's actually a chic option for the beach and I use it all the time.
  • This nautilus clutch is too fun, pair with a simple dress or linen set for dinner.
  • I snagged this shell tote on major sale. Sold out but worth watching eBay if you love it!
  • I'm packing an old capiz shell favorite from last summer which is sold out, but you can get a similar look with this bag!

Swimwear:

  • This retro-inspired bikini set is super flattering and really stays put when you're splashing around.
  • I love the high neck on this seersucker malliot for when you've got a little too much sun on your chest. (plus the silhouette is so chic!) I'm pairing with this happy pink pareo.
  • This smocked tank suit has a flattering low back and high cut legs - the fabric is great for smoothing your figure and a fraction of the price of Hunga Z!
  • I also brought this smocked bandeau top and bottoms in brown - a great color when you still need to work on your tan!
  • You need a classic white bikini on any beach trip, even if it's just to wear under an eyelet caftan. This one has chic tortoise buckles and stays put well. (Top here, bottoms here.)

Shoes:

  • These simple white sandals are like wearing jewelry on your feet and really go with everything!
  • These wedge sandals feel like you're walking on air while giving a nice bit of height. I love pairing them with a simple maxi dress and long pendant necklace.
  • These neutral lace up sandals really elongate your legs, plus they're under $100!
  • These block heel sandals have a clean look that complements almost any dress!
  • Minimal and metallic, these lace up sandals are chic and on sale!
  • These slides are so sweet.

Accessories:

  • I live in straw hats while on vacation and love this little bucket hat and this XXL number.
  • A tennis bracelet adds just a little sparkle to any look.
  • Statement earrings are a must for dinners al fresco!
  • I'm packing a bunch of my favorite Haverhill pieces for this trip including my new diamond heart necklace! Find my most-worn jewels and a special discount through 2/14 here!
