We've been in Vermont the last few days and while it's been snowing everyday and utterly beautiful, it's also very cold. Sharing some of my top tips and wardrobe essentials for staying chic and warm this holiday season.
Sweater dresses are your best friend. A long sleeved sweater dress is your wardrobe secret weapon this time of year, and a simple black version like this one (50% off!) can be dressed up or down. I love that it's a wool/organic cotton blend (read: super soft), has a full skirt (ie wont cling to your rear) and the little eyelet detail is slimming and creates some interest. The fitted top works great with a belt and the fuller skirt is perfect for pairing with tights and suede boots for added warmth. (Wear nude tights to the eyelet detail still shows!) This dress is going to be on repeat this winter, and I'm looking forward to styling it in so many ways. Snap it up now (at 50% off!) and join me! (Totally different vibes, but I also love this red cashmere cable knit dress (on major sale), and this charcoal gray option (would look FAB with gold accessories).
A down vest, but make it chic. This feather vest is genius. It has the warmth of a puffer vest, but is just so fancy. Whether you wear it as outerwear, or a cozy layer under another coat, it's the winter staple you didn't know you needed. (It compresses to almost nothing, so yes will even fit under a fitted coat!)
You need knee high boots. Pair suede knee high boots with tights and or cozy socks for added warmth. I love how the slim fit of this doesn't add bulk to your silhouette when the rest of your body is bundled up.
Up the glam with accessories. Break up an all black look with a statement belt. I love the organic shape of the gold buckle on this belt (on sale!) and also own and love this one. This opulent option has "I'm collecting future vintage pieces" all over it. Jewelry is another easy option for adding a little holiday sparkle even if you're bundled up, such as these vintage inspired drop earrings, a sparkle-y bracelet (Haverhill Bracelet c/o or this!) or a long pendant necklace.
A moment for the bag. It wont keep you warm, and I'm not sure what you even call this little fabric bag, but little fabric bags are definitely trending this season. It's so unlike me to pick up something so trendy but this style bag has many virtues so hear me out. 1) It's so easy to pack and takes up almost zero space. 2) You don't have to worry about your baby scratching the leather. 3) My exact version secures the two ends to create the handle with a snap, which means you can snap it to the back of your chair and it won't fall while out to dinner. (Amazing!) 4) Many versions are a great price for the look. (I would not say mine is a steal, but the jacquard works with so many dark colors in my wardrobe and I just love it.)
Top things off with a great hat. I saw a woman wearing a big furry hat that just looked so warm and that made me feel justified in lusting after this shearling pill box hat. A little bit vintage, a little bit practical. I'm in love. Or grab this cashmere beanie for a goes-with-everything option that looks great when you pull the crown off to the side.
