I'm a firm believer that if you get your wardrobe staples right you'll always look and feel your best. So enter five of of my favorite fall staples in one look from a beautiful fall day in Woodstock, Vermont. I just love them all together and each of these pieces can be styled countless ways making their cost-per-wear almost nothing over the years.
Sarah Flint Riding Boots - (Currently 20% off with "Stacie20" through Oct 4th!) Riding boots are essential in any classic wardrobe and this pair has the perfect set of features (like a leg elongating almond toe and 30mm heel for a little lift) so they look fantastic with everything from mini skirts to dresses to jeans. Plus the leather is phenomenal. I'd love to tell you I take special care of these boots, but the truth is I've had them for three years and never conditioned them or taken them to the cobblers and they still look incredible after lots of wear. They are certainly an investment but one that it totally worth it in my opinion give how many times you'll reach for them in the years to come! See them styled many ways here.
Skinny jeans - Mine are maternity but love these if you're not pregnant. Gen Z may say they're out but they are essential for tucking into knee high boots come fall and winter. I'd recommend picking a darker wash instead of a light one to keep the look fresh.
J.Crew Barn Jacket - I've waxed poetic on how the wax barn jacket is a closet staple, and though I've only had this jacket (solid version here) for 10 days I've already worn it so many times. This style is the prefect throw-on-and-go shape for fall outdoor adventures and the camel and navy tattersall check reads as a solid which works with most casual outfits. See it styled several ways here.
Gucci Horsebit Bag - I will forever be a sucker for equestrian styling (even my engagement ring's design is horsebit inspired) and this bag is the perfect size, shape and chocolate-y hue to compliment much of my fall/winter wardrobe. It is a major splurge but one that I knew I'd enjoy for decades to come, and whatever brand you choose, a beautiful brown handbag will be on heavy rotation in your wardrobe too. See mine styled several ways here.
Heidi Wynne Turtleneck Sweater - This ivory cable turtleneck is a casual classic that is almost always in my suitcase for fall foliage adventures. I love the relaxed fit that feels like 1980s Ralph Lauren and still fits at 6 months pregnant! (I own the small.) I love the geometric cable, high fold over collar and perfect warm but not too warm ivory color. The small brand is a favorite of mine and you can see it styled several ways here.
