Happy Spring Stripes
We had the most beautiful weekend here in New Hampshire and now that it finally feels like spring, I eagerly broke out some of my new warm weather pieces to enjoy. As I'm shopping for spring and summer, one pattern keeps popping up again and again - stripes! While some patterns go in and out of fashion, stripes are forever. Wear vertical stripes to give yourself the illusion of more height, or wear horizontal stripes for a bit of nautical flair. From chic pinstripes to bold candy stripes, the versatility of stripes knows no bounds. Plus, the stripe's enduring appeal makes it a favorite for wardrobe pieces I know I'll reach for over and over again.
Keep reading to see more of my favorite striped pieces for spring from wardrobe staples like this classic striped tee or this preppy striped skirt, to special pieces like this smocked midi dress or this eye catching swimsuit!
- The J.Crew shirtdress I'm wearing in this post is made for springtime fun. I love the vertical stripe which elongates my figure and side slits that flatter my legs. (Plus it's only $85 through midnight tonight - April 15th!) If you're not normally a pink girl, it also comes in regatta blue, but I like to ground pink and white outfits with brown or navy accessories so it doesn't look overly sweet.
- This painterly striped dress is a feminine take on stripes and looks great paired with strappy slingbacks.
- I love a linen sweater as the temperatures rise, and this white and sage option makes me think of beach cottage mornings puttering around the garden or taking a walk on the beach. Pair it with lounge-y white linen pants and raffia espadrilles.
- This t-shirt dress is a nautical classic.
- I got my first DeMellier bag (seen here) and am so impressed with the quality. This black and white striped shoulder bag is a neutral that will jazz up your neutral outfits.
- This red and white smocked dress has me longing for clambakes and backyard BBQs.
- A sunny yellow striped button up shirt looks fabulous tucked into high waisted white shorts.
- A great striped tee is a staple in any wardrobe. I just bought this ivory and navy striped tee which is the perfect lightweight knit (only $35), and has an ivory ground instead of white which feels different than the others in my wardrobe.
- These linen striped pants will keep you cool all season long.
- This charming green and white bag is equally at home at the farmers market or on the beach! (Or sitting on a chair in your entry - I just love the look!)
- I love the pastel stripe and big bow on this swimsuit. Pair with an XXL straw hat to up the drama!
- The mix of blues in this multistripe dress is so striking. (I have another dress by this brand and their silhouettes are super flattering!)
- This striped skirt would look perfect with this linen top (size down in the top). Add wedge espadrilles and you're good to go!
- This striped tote has every color of the rainbow.
- Ruffles and a wrap silhouette make this striped shirtdress extra feminine.
- This little striped cardigan is the perfect piece to pop over any solid colored dress this season, or button it up and wear it as a top with these high waisted white jeans.
- This preppy blue and white striped midi dress would be perfect to wear for a wedding by the water.
- Love the mod look of this striped knit skirt.
- The wrap waist on this striped dress is super flattering. (I wore it a lot in my 2nd trimester but looks great if you're pregnant or not!)
- I love the subtle tie dye take on stripes in this romantic dress.
- Tuck this striped linen bow neck blouse into high waisted pants for an effortlessly chic look!
- I just bought this blue and white beach coverup - an easy throw on and go piece that you'll reach for all summer long and won't break the bank!
