Daily seasonal styles to inspire your own timeless wardrobe

If I Were Starting My Wardrobe From Scratch, I’d Buy These Pieces

After years of refining my wardrobe, I’ve found myself reaching for the same pieces again and again—and this spring is no exception. These are the staples that make getting dressed feel effortless: beautifully cut skirts, perfectly broken-in denim, crisp shirts, and accessories that pull everything together without a second thought. Taken together, they almost form a capsule wardrobe—one that works just as well at home as it does packed neatly into a carry-on for a weekend away (for those of you who always ask!). What I love most is that nearly all of these pieces transcend seasons, and because I wear them so often, the cost per wear has quietly dwindled to pennies. They’re the kind of thoughtful, hardworking investments that simplify your closet and make every outfit feel like you.

  • The flattering cut on this classic midi skirt makes it a piece you will wear on repeat. I have it in three colors and wear them all year-round.
  • I love how this pebbled leather crossbody bag seamlessly transitions from a chic top-handle tote to a hands-free option. The rich tan color works with absolutely everything in my spring wardrobe, from floral dresses to casual denim.
  • These gold wrap sandals are a warm weather staple and look amazing with everything from swimwear to sundresses and more.
  • This button up shirt skims the body just-so, and has an overlapping tulip shaped hem that truly stays tucked all day. The cut is slim and perfect for under sweaters, or consider sizing up for a more relaxed look. I always, always pack two white shirts in my suitcase because it just always works. I'm also obsessed with this stand-collar shirt. It's a touch oversized and just the thing to wear tucked into jeans, while cooking barefoot in the kitchen.
  • My diamond studs are the MVP of my jewelry box. They go with everything from pilates sets to evening wear and brighten my complexion like no other. I always wanted big-ish diamond studs (mine are 4-ct., meaning 2ct. per ear) and love that lab grown diamonds have made them much more affordable than in years past. Still expensive, but a worthy investment you'll enjoy for a lifetime. (I also own this budget-friendly pair, and it's honestly hard to tell the difference between my diamond studs and these.)
  • I'd immediately buy a white dress and a denim dress. Something with a little detail and interest, like this white midi dress or this embroidered denim number. Pieces that can be dressed up or down for work or vacation.
  • This striped cotton sweater is the perfect transitional layer. I've worn mine countless times since I got it two months ago and it is such a perfect cut, holds its shape wonderfully and is just the right fit to wear with high-waisted denim, shorts and skirts. Throw it over your shoulders with a sundress now, and wear it with white shorts this summer. I preordered it in black and ivory as well.
  • I'd immediately repurchase my favorite jeans, including these that I'm wearing in "reign" as I type. (Currently 30% off!) They have a ton of stretch but don't look stretchy, and a flattering straight leg cut that hits right above the ankle. I'd also repurchase these loose straight jeans, which are universally flattering with just the right amount of stretch. I love styling them with a feminine blouse and slingbacks for a relaxed yet polished dinner look like I did here.
  • I own these gorgeous pumps in a handful of colors and cannot live without the brown and black suede versions.
  • I love throwing this barn jacket on over my daily uniform. The ivory twill feels fresh, and the checked cuffs add a little interest to casual looks. Plus I love the big pockets.
  • This cashmere cardigan is a fabulous way to inject some cheerful color into your closet. I like to wear it fully buttoned as a top with white denim, or draped over a classic shirtdress.
  • You will be shocked to learn this tennis bracelet looks 8x more expensive than it's price tag, and made from moissanite and not diamonds. It looks so elegant worn solo with a simple silk blouse, or stacked with your favorite gold bangles for a night out.
  • This beautiful woven bag is such an elegant everyday option. The perfect size for pairing with casual and dressier looks.
  • Sun protection is an absolute must, and this straw hat is the chicest way to stay shaded. I pack it for every beach vacation to wear with swimsuits and breezy linen cover-ups. (I have it in medium.)
  • These simple tan slingback sandals are a bestselling staple for good reason. The low heel is comfortable enough for walking around town all afternoon, yet elegant enough to pair with a midi dress for spring weddings.
  • A classic trench coat is the ultimate spring layer. Throw over a cashmere sweater and trousers for the office, or over your workout set for a pulled-together morning coffee run after Pilates.
  • These ballet flats are so insanely comfortable and a perfect match for the bag I mention above. Perfect with jeans, skirts and dresses, it's worth joining the waitlist to ensure you snag a pair when they restock in June.
  • I bought this white knit tank top while in Palm Beach but it goes with so many outfits, and it is a dressier take on my favorite white tank.
  • I love a soft floral blouse, and this one feels pretty and the perfect balance of special yet casual.
  • This stunning statement gemstone ring has the most beautiful shape and subtle green hue. It is an eye-catching piece that works with any outfit from jeans to cocktail dresses, adding a perfect pop of sophisticated color to your hands. I am just obsessed!!
