With warm weather events and travels coming up I wanted to put a fabulous emerging brand back on your radar - Cartolina. Cartolina means “postcard” in Italian, and the clothes are meant to help you create beautiful memories whether you're meeting friends for dinner or packing for a bucket list trip. I first discovered this wonderful brand when planning a trip to the Mediterranean and brought their gorgeous eyelet Sarah dress with me. Cartolina's collection includes unique designs I haven’t seen elsewhere and didn’t know my wardrobe was missing, and I love that their dresses can work for so many occasions -- whenever you need a gorgeous piece that makes you feel your best!
I packed four outfits from their new collection for our trip to the Bahamas and let me tell you these looks are major compliment magnets. I wore this floral Aria dress for lunch at the Ocean View Club, and as I was running after our little boy a woman turned to David and said I looked like I was plucked from a Slim Aarons photograph - the ultimate compliment! I love the effortlessness of a shirtdress, which is made extra special with a little ruffle at the neck and sleeve, and contrast floral on the trim which is not printed onto the dress but a separate piece that's sewn in - a little detail that really speaks to the quality of their pieces.
I gravitated toward their vacation ready looks for our trip, but the Lane shift dress is an especially versatile silhouette that is a wardrobe workhorse whether you're at home or abroad. Every woman needs a fab white shift dress in her closet and I love the face framing "v" detail at the neck and retro seaming at the bust. Not to mention the decorative pocket with gold buttons, which have a slimming effect and make it easy to dress it up or down. Whether you have a garden party, coffee date, or warm weather getaway on the books this dress can do it all with a change of shoes. I especially love pairing it with the striped green Ezra cardigan, which also comes in navy and looks fabulous thrown over your shoulders, or even worn as a top with white pants.
I also brought along two beach ready numbers, their coral Blanca caftan (also comes in white) and chic navy linen Marisol top and matching Isla pants and love the chic bohemian feel of the paisley embroidery on both looks. You can throw either look on over your swimsuit for a poolside lunch, or pair with statement earrings and a clutch for dinner. There is something so elevated about the way Cartolina does placed embroidery, which flutters beautifully at the hem of the caftan and sides on the navy linen set. The definition of effortless glamour!
Note: Cartolina's pieces tend to run a little large for a relaxed fit. I sized down in everything except the Isla Pants, which fit best in my normal size.
