The autumn color is a little late this year (trees are just starting to turn) but that hasn’t stopped me from embracing fall fashion. We’ve got a packed schedule this month with trips around New England, apple picking, a favorite Oktoberfest dinner and of course, shopping for fall apparel is a big part of the fun. J.Crew’s newest collection is full of timeless wardrobe staples – and currently on sale for 40% off for J.Crew Passport Holders – which just means you create an account with them! (Which I highly recommend because you get free 2 day shipping!) Below I’m sharing four pieces I’ve owned for several weeks and each item has been on heavy rotation. I’ve also scoured their pages to find my favorites from the sale, all at incredible prices (nothing is over $250!).
Few items of clothing make you look instantly polished like a great blazer, and as the weather cools I’ve been reaching for a few of my favorites again and again in lieu of a coat. Whether topping off an easy combo of a sweater and jeans, or pairing with a sweeping skirt, a great blazer will carry you through the fall and winter months with chic-yet-cozy appeal. I was obsessed with this blazer in a different fabric last year (seen styled two ways here) and love the versatile plaid, plus preppy pop of navy under the collar in this year’s version. I’ve worn it for a day shopping in London as well as grabbing lunch in Woodstock, Vermont. I find it runs true to size, though you may want to size up if you plan to pair with thicker sweaters.

This fall it’s all about the lady jacket. Even though this one from J.Crew is a wool blend, the boucle fabric and beautiful trim and button details elevate this piece to look even more luxurious than it’s price point. I cannot say enough good things about this jacket! The quality is beautiful, the color is the perfect camel hue, and with braided and fringed trim at the edges I thought the trim might be a little bulky, but it’s very nicely done and not bulky at all. The jacket is offered in three colors (camel, light blue and cream with black trim) all of which are super versatile and would undoubtedly be a fixtures in your fall wardrobe. The jacket runs true to size as you want lady jackets to fit through the shoulders then the body should be swingy.

Wax jackets are a wardrobe staple for any women who appreciates classic style. This lightweight outerwear option feels quintessentially fall due to their autumnal colors and corduroy collar. I love the big patch pockets for carrying snacks on mountain hikes or treats for dog walks.
This chocolate suede and leather tote (also available in black) is perfection and looks way more expensive than the $150 price point. A timeless classic that is the definition of quiet luxury, this tote is equally handsome for a commute to the office or Saturday errands. (And looks great with other items in this post like the plaid blazer and green wax jacket!)
