Knitwear for the New Year

January always calls for a reset, and for my wardrobe I’m finding it in knitwear that feels soft, comforting, and quietly fresh. After the sparkle and extravagance of the holidays, I’m reaching for cozy cashmere and beautiful wool in calm, neutral hues that feel grounding now, yet light enough to carry us toward early spring. These are the knits I’m wearing on repeat, the kind that bundle you up against winter’s coldest days while still feeling interesting, versatile, and polished. From elevated everyday sweaters and chic layering pieces to a few perfect options for warm-weather getaways, this is the knitwear edit I’m leaning on now and well beyond the season.

  • I had my eye on the fair isle set above (sweater here, scarf here) for a couple of months and it was the perfect combo for a day on the slopes and a long lunch at Trutz in Saint Moritz. I love that it looks equally at home for a ski day and running around town back at home. Coordinating pieces are a great shortcut to looking put together, and I love the matching hat as well!
  • This cashmere cardigan has such fresh proportions and works as an upgrade to your t-shirt and jeans uniform. (For my readers who like pieces that cover their arms, this is a short sleeve that checks that box - such a rare find!)
  • This fuzzy eyelet cardigan is so romantic and fresh. It looks perfect now with chocolate corduroys or denim, and transitions into spring with a silk skirt or white jeans!
  • This incredibly special knit top works with both wool trousers or linen pants and is on major sale. (OMG, the dress version!)
  • This cotton crewneck comes in so many pretty pastel shades. Just the thing to throw on with shorts, or over your shoulders on a warm-weather getaway!
  • My favorite henley just went on sale!
  • This hand-crochet sweater would be gorgeous thrown over your shoulders with a linen dress.
  • This cashmere getaway sweater is knitwear perfection and I wear mine year round. (My mom has one too!)
  • If you loved the long brown and white wrap cardigan in my packing reel, this sweater is very similar but more lightweight for four-season enjoyment.
  • I'm still reaching for my red pieces, especially in the lead up to Valentine's Day and this smart lady jacket (on sale!) brightens everything from the office to coffee dates.
  • Only a few left of this fair isle cardigan which has lovely soft hues that transition nicely from winter to spring. (Plus it's on sale!)
  • This triple ply cashmere crewneck is heavenly soft and such a favorite I have in four colors! A great elevated everyday staple.
  • I just got this cashmere cable sweater in two colors. I love how the light gray and powder blue work now under coats and later paired with white jeans.
  • This zip-cardigan J.Crew Sweater feels very après ski without being too specific. I love it over a slim cashmere turtleneck or striped cotton tee. (This is very similar but handknit?!)
  • This iconic flag sweater was just reissued in a cable knit version and rainbow of colors, perfect for cheering on the USA during the Olympics in a few weeks, and with shorts this summer.
  • This embroidered cardigan was a major splurge for my birthday, and just saw it's on sale!
  • I've been reaching for my classic Breton stripe sweaters quite a bit this winter. I love how timeless they are (mine are 5 or 6 years old!) There's something about this stripe that feels seasonless, but the sweater is warm enough to stand up to anything January brings your way!
