Simple Summer Pleasures at Mishaum Point

Last weekend we drove down to Buzzard Bay, Massachusetts to spend a couple days with Sarah Flint and her family. Halfway there I realized I left my toiletries bag behind, and going makeup-free ended up being the perfect match for our relaxed schedule. Mishaum Point has been a special place for Sarah's family since her grandma married the boy a few houses down on the point, and they've been creating summer memories on this stretch of New England coastline for generations. Sarah's parents made a beautiful dinner to celebrate Sarah's birthday the night we arrived, then it was a weekend full of simple summer pleasures with people we adore! Rambling, shingle-clad homes with wet towels drying on the porch. Tomatoes and berries picked from the garden. Scurrying after babies across the lawn. (Sarah's twins taught our little boy how to crawl!) Twice a day ocean swims. Fresh eggs from The King's Farm Stand. Dogs underfoot. Salt water taffy from Duvall's General Store. Wading at Barney's Joy Beach. Sunset skies. A really good steak dinner. Summer bliss!
