An Americana Baby Shower
My baby shower was one of the best days of my life. It was amazing to have so many special women from different stages of life — from my oldest friend I've known since 4th grade, to my college roommate, to our moms, grandmothers, aunts, and friends from New York and New Hampshire! Having all these important women in one room was overwhelming as they showered me with words of wisdom and gifts to prepare for our baby boy's arrival.
My mom, mother-in-law and two best friends worked together to plan this beautiful day. We settled on an Americana theme, using lots of decor items I already owned that were a beautiful complement to the romantic old barn where we held the event. From the plaid tablecloth to handsome wicker details (that I use when entertaining at home all the time!) to the enormous American flag I loved every decor detail. White Barn Inn is one of our favorite restaurants and hotels in our area, and we often celebrate special moments here, from birthday dinners to the day we learned the gender of our baby boy! It was fun to create even more special memories in one of our favorite places. A beautiful grand piano sits at the entrance to the barn and I was thrilled to have my best friend Paige perform as guests arrived. My mom and mother-in-law made sure the room was decorated to perfection and my friend Steph planned the cutest shower game. Guests got to pick their meal from custom letterpress menus (including yummy favorites like lobster rolls and chicken pot pie!) and everyone enjoyed cardamon rose cake from my favorite local bakery while I opened gifts. Everything was so wonderful and all of the details turned out so sweet and beautiful!
