New Additions to My Jewelry Box

One of the most frequent questions I get asked, is about my jewelry. I've slowly collected special fine jewelry pieces over the years, including the rings I wear on a daily basis, as well as a few sentimental pendant necklaces, pearl earrings and diamond huggies. I've had a few big ticket items on my wishlist for several years, such as a diamond tennis bracelet, but as many of the options are several thousand dollars I've been content to wait for a major anniversary to add certain pieces to my collection. That is, until I found Dorsey.

Dorsey uses fine jewelry craftsmanship and lab grown diamonds and gemstones to create extra special pieces at incredible prices. Dorsey’s stones are lab grown in conditions that mimic how stones would naturally develop and grow underground. So they have the same physical and chemical properties as mined stones (and are equally sparkly and high quality) but are much more affordable. While they create lab grown diamonds (this bracelet!!!), their lab white sapphires are the secret to offering such beautiful quality pieces at amazing price points. The quality is fantastic, the pieces feel very substantial and the tennis styles have a double clasp that keeps the piece securely in place.

This tennis bracelet was my first Dorsey piece and simply put, it started an obsession. I loved adding it's delicate sparkle to every outfit and the craftsmanship is just gorgeous. As with most of Dorsey's jewelry, it's made with 18k gold vermeil (which does not tarnish), and lab grown white sapphires which are easily mistaken for diamonds as the sparkle is intense! Since acquiring a tennis bracelet, I've added quite a few pieces of Dorsey jewelry to my collection and I've rounded up my favorites and how I've styled them below. I originally planned on publishing this a little later in December, but their team shared that their pieces are selling faster than expected and sold out styles won't be restocked until after the holidays. So if there's something that caught your eye or you have in mind as a very special gift it's worth snagging now to avoid disappointment.

For those asking the velvet tray can be found here, and the velvet heart frame is here!

SHOPPING LIST:

The Crawford - This vintage-inspired clip back earring is the perfect way to add a little sparkle to your look and lights up your face. I always get compliments and questions about these when I wear them out, and my own mom asked if they were a special anniversary gift. I have the petite crawford in gold, but it also comes in a slightly larger style, and in sterling silver. Whatever you choose, you can't go wrong. I love how this style works with either casual or dressier looks. They're the perfect bit of sparkle that will be mistaken for a family heirloom.

The Marguerite - This sparkling collar necklace is the ultimate party-ready piece. I love it with a open neck dress like the one I'm wearing below, and feel I like Grace Kelly when wearing it. It's so striking it will make the outfit even if you're wearing something simple. Since it's got megawatt sparkle I like pairing it with demure pearl studs or small diamond studs.

The Tennis Necklace - Dorsey's tennis necklaces really put the brand on the map, and lends understated glamour to any look. I opted for the 15" Moss 3mm Riviere as it sits high enough on my neck to rest above the neckline of my crewneck sweaters, adding interest and sparkle to one of my most-worn sweater silhouettes. I definitely recommend measuring your neck to decide on the length that looks best on you, and holding a thin ribbon around your neck at the desired length to envision where the necklace will sit. A tennis necklace looks wonderful layered with other necklaces such as a pendant necklace, or paired with The Crawford for a subtle statement.

The Lucien - These little drop earrings are an effortless way to add polish to virtually any look and are so light you'll forget your wearing earrings. Inspired by a vintage pair Dorsey's founder inherited, I love the mix of gold and gunmetal, which means they complement autumn and winter'd darker hues beautifully. I have the larger 3 carat size but both sizes are beautiful. These earrings are a no-brainer gift for any special woman in your life. Your mom, your sister-in-law, your grandma will all love these.

The Tennis Bracelet - This was my first Dorsey piece and I tell people it was the gateway drug to building a collection of their beautiful pieces. I own and love the James James style, which features white sapphires encircled in a thin band of gold which keeps the setting from snagging your sweaters like some tennis bracelets are prone to do. If you are considering trying a Dorsey piece, I recommend starting with one of their tennis bracelets as it's something you'll wear every single day. These bracelets go with everything from a casual denim look to black tie attire. It's worth the little extra effort to measure your wrist before purchasing your bracelet, and selecting a bracelet size that is 1/2" larger than the circumference of your wrist for the optimal fit. I love the look of several tennis bracelets stacked on your wrist in varied carat sizes, or layered with a chunky gold link bracelet like this one.
