There’s nothing quite like the energy of a weekend shopping in New York City. Wandering up Madison Avenue and Fifth, from the crisp newness of Tuckernuck’s store to the timeless luxury of Hermès, reminded me just how inspiring it is to experience fashion in person. The windows, the textures, the way collections are styled in-store—it all sparks fresh ideas. And even outside the boutiques, simply watching what other shoppers were wearing felt like its own runway show, offering endless outfit inspiration. I came home with a head full of ideas and a wish list of pieces worth sharing. Here's a roundup of the most exciting discoveries from my weekend in NYC.

SHOPPING LIST:
A beautiful bag (or two) - This topic deserves it's own blog post as I tried on over 20 bags from a handful of brands from Khaite to Hermes. This process was much more efficient than ordering them to my home to try on, and a few emerged as clear favorites. As much as I wanted to take my new bags out on the town, New Hampshire doesn't have sales tax, so I have big purchases shipped home which saves hundreds of dollars. I'll share what I bought in an upcoming post (with photos!) but a few interesting bags that caught my eye (but I didn't buy) included the Khaite Small Lotus Tote (the large felt big and shapeless but the small size was just right!), this black calf hair Toteme Mini Clutch (perfect size for evening), and Bottega's Small Andiamo Tote (every color is sublime!). I also saw a girl carrying this Savette Bucket Bag on the street and loved it. The shape is so unusual and striking, and I just discovered it's on major sale.
Coats - I already mentioned how enamored I was with this Ulla Johnson coat, but I also loved the tweed options at Gucci (found one at an amazing price here!) This fringed lady jacket was made of the most beautiful tweed and looks amazing with a turtleneck and high waisted jeans. (I thought the jacket looked best if you size up.) This Celine Jacket was styled on a model at Bergdorf's and it was just so beautiful, or for a similar look at a fraction of the price I loved this burgundy number. I also snagged my size in this Tuckernuck x Barbour Jacket from their new NYC store, which will be a favorite all fall and winter. (Mostly sold out but worth keeping an eye on the product page for returns or a restock!)
Sunglasses - I tried on sunnies in several stores and was instantly a fan of this pair from Khaite x Oliver Peoples. So much so I wore them out of the store. (They're on the top of my head here.) They're a smaller take on a timeless aviator style and I bought the gold with brown lenses. I love that they're smaller than most of my other sunglasses and will fit under the brim of my ball caps.
Clothes - Tuckernuck's Madison Avenue store opened last week and is a one-stop shop if you're needing a new wardrobe. So many good pieces were on display including this cashmere cardigan (I own and love!), plus this satin cocktail dress, and this bow neck top. I tried these cropped leather pants on at Frame and they're incredible (and currently 25% off here!), they'd look fab with this longer aran sweater. I popped into Ann Mashburn on Madison and this fair isle cardigan caught my eye. The colors are so lovely and soft and it will layer over this brown ruffle neck shirt beautifully. You can wear the sweater through late spring in New England, pairing with chocolate browns now, and white and tan later.
Boots - I absolutely loved these Hermes jumping boots, but didn't get to try them on because they didn't have anything near my size. They're making me think I need to try these from Ann Mashburn, which are a very similar profile, and just don't have the strap.
Cashmere/Silk Shawls - I've started collecting 140mm cashmere/silk scarves over the past several years and love them for their warmth and versatility. They fold up into the tiniest square (perfect for travel) yet are so beautiful and warm. I came across options at every price point while shopping in NYC, from this ($198) to this ($1670)! I just bought this one in July and packed it for New York but it was almost 80 degrees everyday and too hot to wear it. I know there's a beautiful new one from Sarah Flint launching this fall that I really want, but definitely think everyone needs at least one in their wardrobe.
Jewelry - I stumbled upon The Ring Concierge store on Madison Ave and loved trying on several of their lab diamond pieces. I ordered a pair of these round lab diamond studs from them a few weeks ago, and they're being made-to-order so haven't seen them yet. I bought the 4ct pair, but tried on a 3ct in store (photo in the white polo above) and they're just beautiful. Ring Concierge kindly gifted me this Toi et Moi necklace which arrived right before I left for NYC and it's the perfect bit of sparkle. I love the combination of pear and emerald cut diamonds as it has a bit more interest than a classic solitaire necklace. Not a New York find, but I recently got these wavy gold vermeil hoop earrings from a new-to-me brand called Mara Paris and I am obsessed. They're a fun twist on a classic hoop and instantly update any outfit. They feel really substantial and fun and are an affordable luxury at $260. (You can see them best in the first photo in this post!) My only note is they take longer to put on due to the shape of the post, but that might just be me.
Cartier Watch - I've had a watch on my wishlist for a couple years and wanted to try a few styles on to clarify my thinking. There's really nothing like trying on watches in person, since your wrist size really affects how they look on you and it's hard to visualize. I'm still debating my favorites, but if you plan to go you need to book an appointment. (The Cartier building was remodeled in 2020 and is beautiful!)
KRB NY - This little decor outpost on 73rd street is full of happy home finds. From a fabulous Hotel Silver Collection, to one-of-a-kind silk saree lampshades, to pieces from The Lacquer Company and Christopher Spitzmiller lamps it's a treasure trove. These little froggy planters are so new York to me even though they're handmade in France. I bought a chic little lacquer tray to hold my water glass on my nightstand, but would happily bring it all home if I could!
Ralph Lauren Kids - It's no secret that I love Ralph Lauren but their children's store on Madison Avenue is always a must-do for me. I skipped the men's and women's mansions this time because they were both packed but the children's store was quiet. Their kid's collection is full of the sweetest styles and one of my favorite shopping destinations for classic pieces for our son. I'm getting him size 2T clothing now so he can grow into them throughout the winter, and couldn't resist this precious sweater! (Bonus points that its navy and will hold up to stains well.)
Yogurt - A random thing to include in this list, but my friend had a couple of these French yogurts in her fridge and they absolutely blew my mind. They are more of a dessert than a nutritious breakfast (mostly milk and sugar and very little protein), but they are so insanely delicious I had to mention them, and turns out you can find them at Target. Such a fun indulgence if you're hosting friends for the weekend, as they come in beautiful glass or ceramic jars depending on the flavor.
