Our First Al Fresco Dinner Party at Home
Is there anything better than dining al fresco this time of year?
Last weekend my good friend (and former NY roommate) Stephanie Dorr was staying with us and the weather was so perfect we decided to eat outside for the first time of the season. Our backyard is still coming together but it was so fun to set the table while Steph was busy in the kitchen. (We have a bizarre tradition of having our houseguests cook but when your guest is a private chef - can you blame us?)
She said "we'll keep it casual" but then produced this incredible spread. Starting with local oysters and Pét-nat, and finishing with a beautiful cod and roasted tomato dish. I especially loved the snap pea, pepper and labneh salad. (I'm still dreaming of it now!) I love her whole foods approach to meal planning and would hire her to cook for us every week if we lived closer. She's based in Newport Beach, CA so if you're in SoCal and need a fabulous caterer for special events she's your girl! (Here's here site.)
Thank you for this beautiful meal and we can't wait for your next trip to New England, Weffie-Woo!
