Prep for Spring with J.Crew’s Long Weekend Sale

This time of year having a warm weather trip to look forward to is what gets me through weeks of cold and snow. I love the planning process, both from a travel and packing perspective, and taking advantage of Presidents Day sales is a great way to prep for warmer weather. J.Crew just launched their first sale of the season and there are so many fantastic wardrobe staples as a part of the sale. From vacation-ready pieces like super flattering swimsuits and the perfect straw hat, to must-have trench coats and even chic office-ready pieces, I've combed through their sale section to share the best pieces for the season ahead!

• I packed two of J.Crew's "scrunchie" swimsuits and they're just so good! The striped tank suit I'm wearing above has a super flattering low back and high leg and is still enough coverage to run after a toddler. (The strapless version is chic too!) I also brought this bandeau top and bottoms, which isn't on sale in the color espresso (what I own) but every other colors are discounted - and I love them all! (The top is especially flattering on small chested gals.)
• I am almost always wearing a hat in the sun and this straw bucket hat is so cute and under $70!
• A classic for a reason, they bring back this mock neck sweater every year. I own it in a navy stripe and solid white - definitely deserving of a place in your closet!
• Whether you're looking forward to Saturdays at the farmers market or beach trips this straw tote has such a pretty shape and holds a ton.
• This leather trimmed lady jacket is a perfect piece for in-between weather. Pair with a black dress for the office or with jeans for off-duty days.
• If you want a chic new look for the office pair this black top with this pleated midi skirt.
• I bought this cashmere poncho in navy for staying warm during al fresco dinners and the drape is just so elegant. Pair with a navy tank and white denim.
• Doorknocker earrings are back and feel timeless and on trend at the same time.
• I always try out new denim during the sales and this button fly pair is in my cart!

• David's favorite slim flex chinos are on major sale (most colors are under $40!) and we're taking advantage to refresh his collection.
• Similarly, most of the shirts in his closet are this casual slim flex button down - a great cut offered in lots of colors and you can't beat the price!
• I'm obsessed with this cute gingham rain jacket - the tan color is so versatile while still feeling special. (And there's a matching umbrella!)
• David has this barn jacket in a dark color and loves it, trying the lighter stone version for spring!
• These boyfriend white jeans look just like my favorite pair from last summer. Just ordered in the hopes that they are the same - for under $50 and with 4.6 stars from over 1000 reviews I'm betting they're GOOD.
• These cotton cashmere polo sweaters are an effortless way to be comfortable yet look polished. I love the long sleeved version for transitioning into spring.
• Anyone else feel it's hard to find 100% cotton boxers for guys? David just got a bunch of these before our Bahamas trip and we're never going back to a cotton-poly blend!
