Is there anything like fall in New England? David and I are celebrating our 6 year anniversary with a little leaf peeping road trip through three states, and we’re thrilled to be back on the east coast to revel in all things autumn. From apple cider donuts to quintessential New England towns, tartan everything (like this umbrella!) to the satisfying crunch of leaves underfoot – this is my favorite time of year!
With rain in the forecast I wore my trusty red raincoat for the drive on Friday. There’s nothing like a brightly colored rain jacket to cheer up overcast days, and I love how the coast mid waterproof coat by Joules has a happy striped lining inside. I love the yellow and red versions since they compliment the fall color this time or year, yet still stand out. (The navy would be cute for a coastal destination!) Thankfully the weather cleared and we didn’t have any rain but these boots aren’t only for rainy days. New England country walks always seem to have a little stream to skip over or a muddy patch to get through and these boots came in handy wading into a pond to watch for fish and take in views of the mountains aflame with fall color. While many companies offer rubber field wellies, I love the price point of these from Joules – wonderful quality and roughly half the cost of other brands.
I like wearing them with knee-high socks and a shorter skirt or casual dress. I was so impressed with this rugby dress from Joules, the fabric is thick and cut just right to flatter your figure.
