A good blazer is a wardrobe staple and a piece every woman should have in her closet. Find one in a classic cut and it will last for years – in fact I bought the navy blazer below while working at a J.Crew store in college (over 10 years ago!) and it’s still going strong.
I was invited to check out the new “Blazer Bar” at my neighborhood J.Crew store where they’re serving up lots of beautiful blazers – with a twist. I’ve been a longtime fan of J.Crew’s take on this classic piece – and appreciate the little details they put into each one: from functioning button holes at the cuff and silk piping around the lining, to contrast fabric under the collar (perfect for popping) and chest pockets for stashing earbuds or subway tickets.
In case you are looking to add one (or two!) to your wardrobe this fall, I’ve styled their beautiful herringbone blazers three different ways to get you started. Each is made with wool from England’s esteemed Abraham Moon mill, which is known for producing some of the finest textiles in the world since 1837. The colors are gorgeous and surprisingly soft for 100% wool!
The first look features their parke blazer in a pretty pink herringbone. The Parke is their most versatile silhouette, perfectly tailored in all the right places but roomy enough to layer over anything. I selected a chambray shirt and sequined pencil skirt in a burgundy hue for a look that can take you from your desk to date night.
For my second look – I went monochromatic pairing a deep green parke blazer with a matching silk blouse and trousers. The blazer toughens up the pajama look and I love playing leopard pumps off the leopards in the silk print!
My last look features their boyfriend blazer in gray herringbone which has a slightly oversized, borrowed-from-the-boys cut. Style this piece with a fitted tissue tee and cropped denim to balance the blazers oversized silhouette. I find that showing off the narrowest parts of your body such as wrists and ankles is often a good way to keep the look balanced.
Thanks to J.Crew for inviting me to style these looks and to you for reading!
xx, Stacie
J.Crew gifted me one outfit from this try on session and I purchased several other pieces with my own money because I loved these looks so much!
