The Green Edit: Olive, Sage & Everything In Between

There’s something about green in the fall that feels so timeless, especially those rich, earthy shades of olive, moss, sage, and forest green. They pair beautifully with the season’s warm browns, creams, and burgundies, adding a little color while still feeling wonderfully neutral and easy to wear. I especially love green in autumnal textures like suede, corduroy, cashmere, and tweed, whether it’s a beautiful jacket for crisp weekend walks, a cozy knit to wear with jeans, or a velvet dress for a special occasion. From classic countryside staples to polished pieces for the office and festive finds for fall weddings, I’ve rounded up my favorite green pieces to wear now and treasure for years to come.

  • A favorite outfit from the last month. I tried on this Harris Tweed plaidcape while in NYC and couldn't resist its rustic elegance. I wore it over a heathered olive cashmere turtleneck with chocolate leather pants (15% off with STACIE15) (I wear these a lot, but size up!) and suede kitten-heel booties. This leather clutch takes the look from daytime events to dinner.
  • Corduroy dresses are my favorite fall shortcut. The belted midi length on this thin-wale shirt dress looks so polished with chunky gold hoops and these cap-toe mules. The best-selling mini dress has a stand collar and V-neck that work with 96864 now, then tights and boots once it gets chilly. (Both under $200!)
  • Rainy-day dressing gets so chic in this waxed cotton olive mac with a detachable hood and roomy pockets. I have last year's version and love the swingy cut!
  • This olive leather bag is so sculptural, and elevates your daily jeans and a sweater uniform.
  • Nothing beats a quilted Barbour jacket with a corduroy collar for crisp weekends, especially with cream denim and a patterned cashmere-silk scarf.
  • I've been admiring this trench-inspired midi skirt for months. Perfect with a slim turtleneck and heels or boots, and the olive version is extra tempting.
  • This olive suede jacket (20% off with StacieF20) with gold buttons feels so chic over a printed blouse and dark trousers or jeans.
  • You all went nuts for my cashmere lounge set ($50 off with STACIE50) with it's flattering cut, and I just realized it comes in sage too! Perfect for looking put together during coffee runs, carpool and more.
  • This gorgeous structured olive tote walks the line between dressy and casual with ease. Perfect for carrying your laptop during the week, and holding everything you need for getaways on the weekend.
  • I love the contrast trim on the collar of this textured olive midi dress, which is polished enough for the office with boots.
  • Polished with jeans, wool trousers, or a suede skirt, this deep green cashmere-silk Fair Isle sweater is the softest thing I own.
  • Olive suede and a flattering pointed toe make these flats an easy way to add seasonal polish as you run out the door.
  • Wedding guest season looks beautiful in olive. Choose the evergreen dupioni dress with its architectural pocket details for vineyard celebrations, or this liquid satin column gown with a ruched waist for black tie. Both are stunning with dark brown slingbacks and statement earrings.
  • For holiday parties and fall weddings, green feels so festive. This emerald velvet lace midi with double scallop trim is stunning with a matching pendant necklace and heels, or I love the elegant cut and knot detail at the waist of this mint jacquard satin midi.
  • Embroidered florals and frilled cuffs make this cord shirt so romantic, I'd tuck it into my favorite pair of denim.
  • If you want pants with personality, these bandana-print wide-leg pants (15% off with STACIE15) look gorgeous with a fitted ribbed knit.
  • Fall walks, weekend errands, apple picking: these olive rain boots handle it all, with jeans or a mini skirt!
  • The tapestry-like woodland scene on these block-heel pumps and bow flats is pure fairytale. They're a major splurge, but they're art you can wear! For everyday, this olive pump has a tortoise heel and goes with everything from tailored trousers to corduroy dresses. (And has a heel you can truly wear all day!)
  • Olive suede and a gold zip make these ankle boots an easy everyday boot with jeans or midi skirts.
  • Cozy and relaxed, this olive cashmere mock neck looks so chic tucked into trousers or over a slip skirt.
  • Square toes and a navy bow trim make these green suede ballet flats (20% off with StacieF20) so charming with denim or trousers.
  • Inspired by classic leather luggage, this olive leather bag has the prettiest knotted strap across the front.
  • Worth the splurge: this Italian-made checked wool and cashmere jacket with a corduroy collar is a forever piece from a favorite Milanese brand.
  • Monogram this olive canvas tote for a personal touch (it softens and fades beautifully with wear).
  • Wrap this khaki and purple tartan scarf over a neutral coat for the coziest pop of color.
  • Splurge-worthy Bottega bags in the iconic weave: the green suede top handle bag has a sliding crossbody strap that carries it through every fall day. The knot clutch is such a showstopper for evening events.
  • Such a sweet little gift, this marbled olive mirror keychain clips right onto your favorite bag.
  • A true classic, this sage wax jacket with tartan-lined cuffs and a cord collar only gets better with age.
