The Silk Edit: Late Summer Into Fall

There’s something about silk that feels right in every season. In the height of summer, it’s light, fluid, and effortlessly elegant; as fall approaches, it takes on a richer mood through saturated color, prints that hint at the season ahead, and romantic details like lace, pleating, and delicate embroidery. From breezy dresses and polished separates to beautiful accessories and occasion-ready gowns, these are the silk styles I’m loving now—and will continue wearing well into autumn and beyond.

  • The dupioni silk shift dress (15% off with STACIE15) I'm wearing above is the kind of piece that looks effortlessly polished. Wear it to a summer lunch with diamond huggie earrings and flat sandals (mine are sold out, but I've also worn this dress with these in gold), or dress it up for evening with heels and a clutch.
  • Champagne silk with seashell chain detailing at the neckline. This flowing maxi is resort dressing at its most romantic and looks amazing on women of any age.
  • I've been reaching for this cashmere silk tee constantly, so much so I'm buying it in two more colors. (Size up!) It's the perfect elevated basic under blazers, with jeans, or tucked into this satin slip skirt for date night.
  • Lace-trimmed and full of movement, this blue silk maxi has a dreamy, ethereal quality. The matte silk finish keeps it from feeling too precious. Great for vacation dinners.
  • A navy silk slip dress at this price point is such a find. (I just ordered one and it's true to size.) Wear it with this navy cable-knit cashmere sweater tied over your shoulders for a coastal date night or even a summer wedding.
  • Summer garden vibes in the best way. This bias-cut floral silk dress moves beautifully and would be gorgeous at a rehearsal dinner or summer wedding with gold accessories.
  • Classic and timeless, this navy polka-dot silk maxi is the kind of dress you reach for every season. Beautiful with a woven clutch now and a suede jacket in October, I also love the cream version.
  • These silk lace-trimmed shorts are one of Dôen's bestsellers this summer, and shockingly are included in their much anticipated warehouse sale. I'd wear them with this tonal cardigan (also on sale) for slow mornings sipping coffee on a romantic weekend getaway.
  • When I saw a woman wearing this silk shirtdress I thought it was Hermes. Belt it for a polished office look, or leave it loose with sandals and a top-handle bag for dinner out.
  • Khaite does sculptural minimalism so well. This draped top in a linen-silk blend has the most beautiful asymmetric hem. Pair with high-waisted trousers (these are the perfect cut) and an elegant pair of black pumps.
  • One of my most-worn accessories is this gorgeous botanical silk scarf. Tie it around your neck, loop it through this leather scarf belt, or wear it as a headscarf on breezy days.
  • Dramatic and gorgeous, this blue paisley silk maxi dress is a showpiece for late-summer weddings or vacation dinners. I'd pair it with gold accessories and strappy heels to let the print shine.
  • Pajama dressing done right: this off-white satin button-down shirt with contrast piping looks polished belted over the matching bias-cut pants for dinner.
  • Jewel-toned green silk in a dramatic full-length silhouette makes this maxi dress feel so special. Love it with bold earrings and a clutch for events year-round.
  • An ivory silk-blend A-line coat (on major sale!) with a moonlit sheen that's equal parts elegant and timeless. Layer it over evening gowns, slip dresses, or even jeans and a silk cami for an elevated everyday look.
  • Showstopping in claret red, this pleated gown moves like a dream and has the most gorgeous deep V neckline. Ideal for a formal fall wedding or gala with gold accessories.
  • Im so tempted to invest in a statement floral jacquard coat like this one. The green floral pattern is stunning over a simple slip dress now and over knitwear come fall.
  • Handmade in NYC from deadstock silk, this embroidered knot bag is a true collector's piece. The beaded trim adds so much charm to a simple dinner outfit or wedding guest look.
  • This polka-dot tie-neck blouse (15% off with STACIE15) has the dreamiest sheer finish and dramatic cuffs. I'm wearing it tucked into crisp white shorts now and black cigarette pants later.
  • A smocked bodice, side pockets, and cotton-silk fabric. This paisley midi dress checks every box for an easy summer day. Throw it on with flat sandals and a basket bag.
  • Sequined florals meet a marbled print on this georgette midi and the result is pure magic. Perfect for a fall wedding with strappy heels and statement earrings.
  • This silk top has an effortless desk-to-dinner energy. Tuck into tailored trousers or layer under a blazer for a polished autumn look. Similarly, this sleeveless tie-neck blouse in solid silk is a forever wardrobe staple.
  • La DoubleJ's hand-printed tulip silk shirt is the kind of piece that makes anything from tailored shorts to jeans feel special.
  • I plan to pack this pink floral silk sarong for my next beach trip. The fabric is incredible! Tie it over a swimsuit for lunch, then drape it as a wrap skirt with the matching silk blouse as an easy evening look.
  • Ornate paisley on lightweight habutai silk gives this maxi dress such a rich, autumnal feel. Beautiful with tall boots now and espadrilles on vacation.
  • Ulla Johnson's floral prints never disappoint. This green silk midi has such a fresh, romantic feel. I'd style it with flat sandals for daytime or block heels for a garden party.
