What’s Catching My Eye for a Memorial Day Weekend Getaway

With Memorial Day weekend just around the corner, I have beach getaways, morning coffee on the deck, and dinners al fresco on my mind. This edit is filled with the pieces I would pack for that first true weekend of summer: easy coverups, breezy dresses, chic sandals, coastal accessories, and a few patriotic pops of red, white, and blue. Whether you’re headed to Nantucket, the lake, a seaside town, or simply planning a backyard gathering, these are the pretty, polished pieces catching my eye right now.

  • The cotton cashmere matching set ($50 off with STACIE50) above is what I want to live in for morning coffee on the deck. The pointelle knit texture is so pretty, and the henley stop transitions easily to a beach walk or casual lunch in town.
  • If you want to make a statement at a backyard party, this blue gingham jumpsuit with the oversized bow is so fun. The sweetheart neckline is feminine and flattering, and the full length keeps it polished. (I'd pair with this wicker clutch.)
  • Throw this ivory eyelet mini dress over your swimsuit after the beach or wear it to lunch with gold wrap sandals. The bell sleeves and intricate cutwork feel special without trying too hard.
  • I have my eye on this blue embroidered shift dress and love how the pattern feels artisan and relaxed. Perfect for a walk around town with sandals like the pair below, or throw it over a swimsuit for a polished coverup moment.
  • The woven knot detail on these cognac flat sandals gives them such a chic nautical feel. (They remind me of Hermes.) They also have a molded footbed for all-day comfort, perfect for beach walks, exploring town, and everything in between. I got a pair prelaunch and they are insanely comfortable and so so chic.
  • I love the romantic floral print on this sheer silk blouse. Tuck it into high-waisted shorts for lunch or pair with jeans and a clutch for a casual dinner out.
  • Your ultimate beach weekend bag: this striped canvas tote holds everything from sunscreen to a sweater for when the evening cools down. The navy and brown combo goes with absolutely everything.
  • Summer calls for a great red dress, or two! Bold red eyelet makes this shirt dress a showstopper for lunch in town, and the lace insets on the hem of this midi dress are perfect for a romantic dinner. I have tiered cotton silk midi dress in another color, and it has a beautiful tiered skirt that flutters beautifully as you walk.
  • Dreamy and romantic, this white cotton Victorian maxi with cascading lace insets is gorgeous for a sunset dinner. The front slit keeps it from feeling too precious. Pair with delicate gold jewelry.
  • Festive and classic, this navy flag cap is just right for Memorial Day weekend. Pop it on for a morning beach walk or boat ride and let it do all the patriotic styling for you.
  • Sleek and timeless, this navy silk shift dress in dupioni silk is the kind of piece you'll reach for all summer. I bought it in pink for an upcoming trip and think I need the navy as well. Effortless yet elegant.
  • Sweet and easy, this floral mini dress with tie straps is my idea of the perfect beach weekend piece. Wear with platform espadrilles for drinks or flat sandals for a morning stroll.
  • Denim maxi skirts are having a major moment, and this button-front skirt is my favorite version. Pair with a striped tee and sandals for a Saturday that goes from boardwalk to dinner.
  • Obsessing over this woven dusty red tote for summer weekends. The raffia texture is gorgeous, and the size is perfect for carrying everything you need from beach to dinner.
  • Nothing says a relaxing holiday weekend like a beautiful Liberty print pajama set. The blue floral cotton is so soft and pretty, you'll want to linger over morning coffee in these all weekend long.
  • If you need one versatile piece for the whole weekend, this linen blend maxi shirt is it. Wear it as a beach coverup, unbuttoned over a swimsuit, or belted as a dress for lunch in town.
  • Every beach weekend needs a good cotton pareo and this indigo blue one is gorgeous. Tie it as a sarong over your swimsuit or style it as a mini skirt with a white button-down for a casual walk into town.
  • The burnout floral pattern on this denim jacket is so beautiful and unexpected. It's the perfect layer for cool evenings, whether you're heading to sunset drinks or a backyard dinner.
  • A breezy linen blouse in the prettiest Provence blue. I'd wear this with white shorts for lunch, linen pants for sunset drinks, or tucked into a skirt for a casual dinner.
  • How adorable is this terrycloth coverup with the embroidered shell pockets? It's the cutest thing to throw on after a swim, and honestly looks polished enough for a casual seaside lunch.
  • Zimmermann does it again with this navy broderie anglaise denim minidress. The scalloped detail is stunning. Wear with flat sandals for a beach walk or wedges for dinner.
  • You really can't go wrong with this navy tunic for a beach weekend. Throw it over a swimsuit for lunch in town or wear it with white jeans for an evening stroll. I've worn mine in Italy, Nantucket, Maine and Florida. It's a winner!
  • Crease-less linen is a game changer, and this navy maxi dress proves it. The fitted bodice with buttons looks polished enough for dinner but feels effortless all day long.
  • Morning coffee on the deck calls for this cozy striped waffle knit pullover and matching pants, which looks chic enough to wear straight into town. Love the collar detail and relaxed fit.
  • Adorable over a swimsuit or with white shorts, this red striped cotton kurta brings instant vacation energy. The print works from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, whether you're in New England or the South of France.
  • Classic and flattering, this navy midi dress (15% off with STACIE15) with its removable tie belt works beautifully for a casual dinner with statement earrings and sandals. The stretch cotton sateen is so comfortable.
  • An openwork raffia bucket hat like this elevates any beach walk outfit instantly. The lace-like woven detail is gorgeous, and it packs flat in your bag for travel day.
  • Unexpectedly elegant, this denim halter top with its gathered neckline and tie waist looks stunning with a striped midi skirt for sunset drinks.
  • Pop of red alert: this linen blend rollneck sweater is ideal draped over your shoulders at sunset or worn properly on the travel day home with jeans and sneakers.
  • Blue and white ikat stripes make this cotton midi dress feel you're on holiday wherever you are. Gorgeous with flat sandals for a beach walk or dressed up with wedges for dinner.
  • Borrowed-from-the-boys charm makes this bandana print cotton shirt the dreamiest beach coverup. Wear it over your suit with the matching pareo, or on its own with cutoffs.
  • Handwoven in Ecuador, this straw hat is the chicest sun protection for beach walks and morning coffee on the deck. Love that it's packable for the travel day home too.
  • Talk about a conversation starter. This lobster clutch is the most fun accessory for a seaside dinner, and the Liberty floral lining inside is such a lovely surprise.
  • Coastal charm at its best, this embroidered maxi with blue shell embroidery is perfect for sunset drinks with a raffia clutch and flat sandals. The smocked waist makes it incredibly easy to wear.
