One of the great things about living out of a suitcase for a year is you only carry the things that you absolutely love with you. Since we love walking around cities and were focused on holiday markets and outdoor adventures I packed three statement coats. During the winter months I always feel as if my coat is the whole outfit! I’d mix and match my collections of accessories: two beanies, two pairs of gloves, and two scarves with my coats to vary the look subtly from day to day.
I go weak in the knees for all things cable-knit and fair isle so this sweater which combined both was too good to be true! It’s a lighter weight merino wool/cotton blend that will work well for those of you that live in warmer climates but love winter clothing. I got my normal size (xs) but it runs large and would recommend going down a size if you want a more fitted look.
We were really fortunate to have sunny weather in the 40s during our ski holiday in Austria, so all I needed was a cashmere sweater and this eye catching flannel popover on the slopes. I did have my mom send my favorite pair of “Bond Girl” ski pants that I got a few years ago and still love to this day!
David and I lived in our L.L. Bean Boots all month. We picked out the 8″ versions with Thinsulate to keep our toes toasty whether we were playing in the snow in Norway or wandering the outdoor markets in Helsinki. When you order them make sure to pay special attention to their sizing guide as they tend to run large.
I love love love my new plaid duffle coat from Gloverall (But you probably already know that, considering I wear it almost every day. 🙂 The fabric is so thick and cozy and the toggles are really easy to undo even while wearing gloves.
