Here’s a round up of everything I wore on Instagram in June! We’ve spent the last two weeks on Nantucket and I’ve enjoyed dressing in an (almost entirely) red, white and blue color scheme, which means there are lots of styles that would work perfectly for your 4th of July Celebrations! I’ve also received a lot of questions about pieces David is wearing on Instagram so I’ve linked them below as well!
I just LOVE this nautical print wrap dress for the 4th of July, and it’s currently 50% off! It’s nice and long so you don’t have to worry about windy days, and the ties at the sleeve are so sweet. I carried my Rocio Viola Bag with it, but I like the idea of pairing this special oyster inspired clutch with it even more!
I love how these outfits compliment each other as a couple, since he’s wearing lighthouses and this dress has tiny ships, stars, and anchors all over it! Nantucket is THE place to wear critter shorts and David’s pair covered with lighthouse embroideries are perfect for July 4th! This bright blue linen shirt looks so good against a tan.
If I were to wear one outfit for the rest of summer it would be this darling gingham set. I was hesitant to try on plaid bottoms, but the print is surprisingly flattering and I got compliments all day when I wore them on Nantucket. Classic navy Jack sandals look perfect with the optic navy and white and I loved the way the set looked with either a cable knit sweater thrown over my shoulders or this navy cashmere poncho. The poncho is the perfect length – not so long that it swallows you but enough fabric to keep you warm on cool island nights! I also love love love this “galley beach” hat by Peter Beaton. The brim is extra wide and perfect for keeping the sun off your shoulders!
Sunny days along the eastern seaboard call for madras sundresses and this one was so flattering with it’s self tie belt. I love the fit of everything in Brooks Brother’s youthful Red Fleece collection and the price point ($58!) is amazing for such high quality fabric and construction. My bamboo handle bag is sold out online but I linked a similar style here.
These high-waisted shorts look so polished with a sweater tucked in and elongate your legs like none other. Mine have little bees on them and are from last season, but this is the same set in a nice navy with white clip-dot embroideries. The navy and white is so versatile and looks great with a sailor stripe sweater or cable knit sweater and jacks and your favorite baseball cap! The perfect look for an evening sail if you ask me!
This might be the most perfect shift dress I’ve ever found, and I’ve worn it countless times because the dress is cotton and therefore breathable on humid east coast days, but also thick enough you’ll never sweat through it. (Sometimes you have to think about that!) These jacks sandals are the most fun pair I have and I love the multi color style which goes with so many different things in my closet.
I am building up a collection of these classic tunic dresses and love this navy style with white clip-dot embroideries for the 4th of July! Pair with a straw bag, jacks and a classic red lip!
Another example of my favorite classic tunics (last seen here) this one is a heavy linen that I love reaching for when I want to look effortlessly pulled together.
You can read about my obsession with Rocio UK’s elegant wooden handbags here. While most of Nantucket is casual, I always enjoy dressing up a bit in this pink sundress for dinners out.
I recently got my first pair of Lake Pajamas and I love how soft they are! They’re perfect for lounging around and I’ll often wear the top out and just throw on white jeans when I need to run an errand. (And no one would guess I’m in my PJs!)
Thanks for reading and Happy 4th Everyone!
xx, SF
