A Futuristic Look for David’s College Reunion
We made a last minute decision to attend David’s college reunion in early June and the last night of the weekend was a futuristic-themed party set in Yale's beautiful Old Campus. I love any excuse to dress up and Armarium came to the rescue with this gorgeous Missoni gown and of course I turned to Sarah Flint for her new "Perfect Sandal” (I love the 85mm!) - just the thing when you’re ready to dance all night!
David has a close group of friends from college and three of them are getting married in the next year. I can't wait to celebrate with them from Ohio to Hawaii and these Sarah Flint sandals are coming with me. Sarah took her incredibly comfortable "perfect pump" technology and applied it to her party ready heels that come in three colors and two heights for every summer soiree. Sarah's anatomical arch support, 6mm of extra foot bed padding and steel rod stiletto heel mean you can dance all night long. Three straps over the toes secure your foot and the delicate ankle strap elongates your legs. You know what a fan I am of Sarah's designs and commitment to making stylish shoes without sacrificing comfort, but I think her talent shines through most in her comfortable stiletto heels. (See my first blog post about her perfect pump here!)
Now about this dress! Since it was a last minute RSVP, I turned to a new, luxury rental service called Armarium to rent a dress for the event. I had seen my friend Lauren in this dress at the Frick Ball a few months ago and knew it was perfect for the quirky "futuristic" dress code. The dinner was in a marquee tent so when night fell and the temperature dropped I grabbed my goes-with-anything denim jacket from our dorm room (yes - we stayed in his freshman dorm!) and loved the look even more. The jacket's cropped cut and slim fit make it perfect for sundresses - and ball gowns - alike. :)
