30 Dresses That Have Me Dreaming of Europe
Few things are more fun to pack than a suitcase full of dresses destined for a European summer. I’m dreaming of seaside dinners on the Amalfi Coast, long lunches in Provence, sightseeing days that turn into spritzes at sunset, and breezy pieces that feel just as effortless as they are elegant. I'm starting to plan our own travels (and what to wear!) and there's so much newness to be excited about right now. From Grace Kelly-worthy silhouettes and polished white eyelet to cheerful florals, bold stripes, and party-ready silk maxis, these are the dresses I’m most excited about right now — pieces that will feel right at home on vacation, then slip seamlessly into everyday life for Mother's Day celebrations, garden parties, date nights, and weekend lunches closer to home. And because the best summer dresses have a way of selling out just as the season begins, now is the time to find the one you love.
- The floral print on this linen-cotton midi dress is absolutely gorgeous, and the open back makes it special enough for a seaside dinner in Positano with raffia sandals and my beloved green amythest pendant necklace.
- If you need a polished white dress that works from casual brunches to gallery openings, this eyelet shift dress is it. The stand collar and pockets make it effortlessly chic with flats or heels.
- I'm obsessed with this striped cheesecloth shirt dress for European sightseeing days. Belt it, add these cognac leather wrap sandals and a woven bag, and you look instantly put together without trying too hard.
- Ann Mashburn's Provençal floral dress in soft Italian poplin is the definition of French countryside chic. Wear it unbelted with sandals by day or cinch with a basket bag for the evening.
- Bishop sleeves give this airy white striped midi such a romantic silhouette. The D-ring belt cinches beautifully at the waist, making it lovely for dinner al fresco with strappy sandals.
- This gorgeous eyelet dress has a removeable slip, making it the ultimate vacation piece. Wear without the slip over your bathing suit for days at the beach club, then add the slip and a fun clutch for dinner.
- Grace Kelly would absolutely approve of this blue gingham midi dress. The structured bodice and full skirt are incredibly flattering. Wear with kitten heels to a garden party. (Also comes in petite!)
- Dôen's beloved tiered floral maxi returns in the dreamiest antique-inspired print. The sweetheart neckline and fluid fabric feel perfectly suited for a long Provençal dinner with wedge sandals and a glass of rosé. (I own it in last year's print, seen here!)
- Zimmermann's ivory tunic dress with leather tie details is the kind of piece that works beautifully over a swimsuit by day and with gold sandals for a casual seaside dinner. (Honeymoon potential too!)
- The pink and orange poppy print on this floral maxi is so cheerful. I'd wear it with woven wedges and statement earrings to a summer luncheon or vineyard tour.
- So playful and charming, this turquoise mini dress with raffia embroidery is a conversation starter. I'd pair it with colorful beaded earrings and flat sandals for exploring a coastal village in Portugal.
- For a sleek, minimalist summer look, this abstract floral linen maxi has a gorgeous square neckline and won't wrinkle in your suitcase. Pair with classic diamond studs and sandals for effortless Riviera style. (A very similar look for under $150 offered in regular and petite here!)
- This fabulous gingham sundress is so special. The ricrac trim and flattering silhoutte are from a favorite small brand you won't see on everyone else. (Yet!) I'd wear this for a market day in Provence.
- I just ordered this navy jersey midi because it's the kind of throw-on-and-go dress that still looks polished. Perfect for travel days, casual dinners, or exploring a new city with a crossbody bag.
- These charming blue nautical appliqués on this embroidered maxi make it feel like it was designed for a Greek island holiday. Add a raffia bag and leather sandals for the full coastal look.
- Veronica Beard's striped linen midi has the most beautiful hand-painted stripe effect. It's the dress I'd reach for to walk through a seaside village, then transition straight to dinner.
- Nothing says summer in Europe like a bold orange cotton maxi with a gorgeous fit-and-flare shape. The cheesecloth texture means no ironing, which is a vacation must for me.
- Stunning doesn't begin to cover this cobalt blue silk halter maxi with gold beading at the neckline. This is the dress for a special evening dinner on the Amalfi Coast, full stop.
- A retro floral shift dress like this one is so charming for sightseeing and museum days. Add ballet flats and a crossbody for a '60s-inspired look that feels fresh and fun.
- Rich burgundy and delicate dot print make this silk maxi feels elegant without being fussy. I'd wear it with heeled sandals to a late summer dinner party or evening concert. (I have in black and love it. Seen here!)
- If you love a playful pop of color, this orange halter dress with lace trim at the hem is a showstopper for warm evenings. Pair with a sunhat during the day and drop earrings at night. (Seen here.)
- This red cotton-silk midi has the most beautiful tiered asymmetrical skirt that moves so well. It's the kind of showstopper you wear to a rooftop dinner in Rome with strappy heels and red lipstick.
- Ulla Johnson's blue printed midi dress has the most gorgeous movement thanks to that ruffled hem. I'd wear it with strappy sandals for an evening stroll along the French Riviera.
- Picture yourself at a candlelit dinner in Provence in this white lace gown. The sweetheart neckline and dimensional pleats are so romantic. Pair with delicate gold jewelry and a woven clutch. (Honeymoon potential!)
- That whimsical print on this strapless silk-blend gown feels like a vintage treasure you might find in a Florentine shop. Perfect for a summer wedding or elegant garden party with statement earrings.
- Cara Cara's blue and white tiered dress is giving Mediterranean tile in the best way. The cotton poplin keeps it breezy for sightseeing in Athens, and it has pockets (always a win!).
- Delicate lace trim and floral embroidery make this off-white midi dress feel like a summer heirloom. Wear with woven wedges for a vineyard lunch or flat sandals for a morning at the market.
- An effortless striped shirt dress like this one belongs in every summer suitcase. The adjustable waist and silky crepe de chine make it polished enough for lunch reservations, relaxed enough for morning coffee runs.
- Sometimes the simplest dress is the most versatile. This white organic cotton midi dress has a beautiful sweetheart neckline and works with everything from espadrilles to heeled sandals. I'd tie a striped sweater over my shoulders for added flair.
- A crease-resistant linen blend that actually looks elevated? This white linen midi is perfect for travel days that turn into evening drinks. The embroidery detail is so beautiful. (I just got mine and recommend sizing up!)
- This easy botanical print sundress looks just right for every destination. I'm addicted to all things Coco Shop and might need to add this one to my collection!
