Beach Bound Style

Spring is the perfect excuse to refresh your beach wardrobe, and I’ve rounded up the pieces I’m most excited to wear this season, from flattering swimsuits to effortless cover-ups, chic totes, and sun-ready accessories. Whether you’re planning a tropical getaway or simply savoring weekends by the water, these finds strike that ideal balance of polished and relaxed. I’ve included versatile pieces you can mix and match all season long, along with my go-to picks for men and boys at the bottom of this post so the whole family is ready for seaside days in style.

  • This sunny yellow one piece is such a cheerful poolside pick. The scrunch fabric is incredibly flattering, and I love how the scoop back gives it a little extra something. It stays put while running after my toddler, and looks chic as a top when paired with wide leg trousers.
  • The tropical palm print on these silk wide-leg pants is pure vacation energy. My pattern above is old, but they release a few new prints every season and they're all so good. I really love this groovy floral version. Throw them on over your swimsuit with slides for an effortless look that takes you from lunch to an afternoon by the pool.
  • Tory Burch's spring sale is still offering up to 30% off through tomorrow night (March 30th!) and loads of my favorite pieces are included. Three beachy must-haves include this cotton-silk tunic (seen here) which looks amazing on women of any age, this shorter tunic (seen here) which I just bought in a second color, and this smocked dress (seen here) which I lived in last summer.
  • Ulla Johnson's swim collection is a work of art, and small busted girls will find her designs extra flattering as they often feature details like the ruching at the bust of this swimsuit, which would look chiiiiic with black linen pants. Also love the pink bikini version - the bottoms really hold you in! (Top here, bottoms here.)
  • Gingham and embroidery together on this lemon-hued caftan make it feel special without trying too hard. I'd wear it all day from poolside morning coffee to sunset cocktails with wedges.
  • Every beach trip needs a great hat, and this straw hat from Janessa Leone is one of my favorites for several years running. The brim offers real sun protection while not being in the way.
  • Rich mocha is such an underrated swimsuit color, and this one-piece is incredibly flattering with its ruched bodice and sweetheart neckline. Wear it with this wide straw hat in the same hue for a glamorous day at the pool.
  • For a truly statement-making coverup, this embroidered caftan from Tory Burch is stunning. The chocolate and cream palette feels so chic for a resort dinner over your swimsuit.
  • The eyelet detailing on this navy one piece gives it such a feminine feel. I'd wear with a navy and white striped knit thrown over my shoulders, or go for the equally cute bikini version! (Top here, bottoms here.) Either way you go, they're 40% off at the time of writing!
  • I've been dreaming about this navy crochet maxi dress from Zimmermann. The wavy knit pattern is so eye-catching, and it transitions perfectly from a beach cover-up to dinner with wedges and gold jewelry.
  • That said, a great beach tote doesn't have to cost a fortune. The raffia tote I'm wearing above is from Target. It's roomy, cute, and perfect for carrying sunscreen, a book, and a towel.
  • I have been drooling over this raffia and leather tote, but just discovered this raffia tote which has a very similar look for a fraction of the price!
  • Pareos take up almost zero room in your suitcase and add so much flair to a beach look. I love the swirling green print on this cotton coverup, this nautical blue version, and this aqua pattern that has a subtle fish motif.
  • How fun is this madras plaid one piece? The smocked fabric gives it a great fit, and the preppy pattern is perfect for Nantucket, Fourth of July weekends or lake house trips.
  • That bow detail on this white one-shoulder swimsuit gives it such a glamorous, gown-like quality. Made with sewn-in cups, it's as functional as it is beautiful. For another one-shoulder suit that's under $50, I love this teal printed one-shoulder suit.
  • While I'm exploring preppy options, this striped one piece has ruching and hip ties that make it incredibly flattering. Throw on white shorts and you're ready for dinner straight from the pool.
  • Every vacation suitcase needs a great button-down, and this oversized striped cotton shirt works beautifully over a swimsuit (wearing the striped version here), with linen pants, or tied at the waist with shorts. I also love the trapeze shape of this shirt with white shorts.
  • Finish your resort wardrobe with this gorgeous open-knit maxi dress that looks incredible layered over a swimsuit. The flared sleeves and intricate stitch pattern are so elegant for seaside dinners.
  • If you're looking for a versatile pair of sunglasses, these gold frames from Krewe are gorgeous. The oversized square shape flatters most face shapes and upgrades every outfit.
  • Upgrade your basic flip-flops with these chic jelly sandals. The leather straps elevate them beyond a typical beach shoe, so they work just as well for a seaside lunch as they do poolside.
  • Terrycloth meets preppy charm in this adorable navy tank coverup with white contrast trim and patch pockets. It's the kind of piece you throw on after the pool and wear straight into town for shopping. (I think I need it for summer in New England.)
  • This gorgeous wicker basket tote with a charming V-shaped handle feels like a vintage find. The floral cotton lining is a lovely surprise, and it's perfect for farmers markets, beach days, and everything in between.
  • Breezy, beautiful, and 50% off, this white cotton poplin maxi dress has the prettiest puffed sleeves and cinched waist. Throw it on over a swimsuit or dress it up with espadrilles for a coastal dinner.
  • Missoni's signature striped knit shines in this metallic crochet mini dress. The subtle shimmer and warm neutral tones make it ideal for a sunset dinner or drinks at a beachside bar.
  • White eyelet is always a good idea, and this cover-up set from Polo Ralph Lauren is the easiest way to go from beach to boardwalk. Wear together or mix in the pieces separately all summer long.
  • Airy cotton in this happy watermelon hued shirt and matching shorts is so breathable and lightweight for hot days. Roll the shorter sleeves up, layer over a swimsuit, or mix and match the separates for an array of easy vacation looks.
  • This lime stripe caftan was a reader favorite from our Bahamas trip, and I just pulled it out for a patio dinner with my in-laws this week. The removable belt lets you wear it relaxed over a swimsuit or cinched with wedges and a clutch for an alfresco dinner. Highly recommend!

A quick note for boys and men!

  • These swim trunks are my husband's favorite style and he has them in multiple colors. The 6" inseam is a great length, and the blue oxford stripe looks classic without being boring.
  • Similarly, my son has these board shorts in a few patterns. I've tried lots of different swim brands for toddlers and these are my favorites by far. I always pair them with one of these rashguards that offer great sun protection, and this waterproof hat. It's such a darling look that protects him from getting too much sun.
