Beautiful Browns

Brown has quietly become the standout color of the season, bringing a sense of warmth, depth, and understated elegance to winter wardrobes. Rich, warm, and endlessly versatile, it’s a color that feels both grounding and elevated, whether rendered in plush cashmere, tailored wool, or buttery leather. In today’s roundup, I’m sharing some of my favorite brown pieces to carry you through the season, from cozy knits at a range of price points to chic outerwear, accessories, and shoes that instantly pull a look together. Think tonal dressing, beautiful textures, and timeless silhouettes you’ll reach for year after year.

  • The coat above is my second coat from Ulla Johnson (first here) and the quality and cut are both glorious. You may not be able to tell from the photo, but the coat is collarless, which I love as it allows you to wear a turtleneck, scarf or both without feeling like there's too much around your neck. I love how I can pop the collar of a statement sweater over it as well. The coat is a bit oversized but not too much (I'm wearing the size "P") and has a tie at the waist.
  • I've been seeing so many Longchamp bags as we've traveled through Switzerland, and am reminded how chic and practical they are, especially for travel. I repeatedly saw women using this expandable tote as a personal bag on flights. It unzips to practically double in size, making it perfect for packing away any souvenirs from your travels.
  • I haven't purchased anything from Zara for years, but when I saw this jacquard skirt and faux fur cardigan I thought they'd be perfect for a winter date in the snow. The skirt reminds me of Emilia Wickstead, at a more wallet-friendly price. Those of you that snagged this set after seeing it in my Saint Moritz Packing List were lucky as both pieces seem to be sold out now, but worth keeping an eye out in case they come back into stock.
  • We're in prime cozy season right now, and I'm living in my loungewear. This cashmere sweater and pants in chocolate are fabulous. I love wearing loungewear with my favorite everyday jewelry for a look that is extraordinarily comfortable, and presentable whether you're hanging with extended family or welcoming an unexpected friend at your door.
  • This gorgeous two tone cashmere wrap is perfect for thrown on as a scarf, adding a warm layer to evening looks, or keeping you cozy on a plane.
  • This chocolate suede bag reminds me of The Row (and is made in the same tannery as The Row!) but available at a much better price. It's big enough to use for work or travel.
  • This herringbone blazer is a preppy staple you can (and should) wear from August through April.
  • The key to wearing neutrals well is ensuring you create interest through varied pattern and texture, and this woven bag adds beautiful texture, while carrying everything you need for a day out-and-about. I love that you can carry it as a top handle, crossbody, or shoulder bag, easily rotating between them as your whims dictate.
  • This beaded skirt can make a statement year-round. Pair it with a tonal cashmere turtleneck and suede pumps now, and a crisp white button up and strappy heels later.
  • This faux fur trapper hat (seen here) and matching mittens are so fun and wonderfully warm.
  • This coat's luxurious wool is spun in Italy's renowned Loro Piana mill, and is my favorite rich cognac hue.
  • These ballet flats are a perfect match for the coat above.
  • This wooly barn coat is smart in solid brown wool or stripes.
  • I've had my eye on this stunning chocolate cape for months, and it just went on sale. Fabulous with black jeans and boots now, and white jeans and loafers later.
  • I got these brown leather pants this fall and they're such a chic, classic, flattering pant.
  • Wear this mocha striped tee with a blazer and jeans now, and chino shorts and sandals this summer.
  • My most worn suede booties are in their 4th year of heavy use and still look amazing. An elegant everyday boot you'll wear non-stop.
  • This latte colored faux fur [product_link id="76775" text=""jacket item="Alice Walk The Faux Fur Jacket"] is extraordinary. So plush and luxuriously soft, it looks amazing with casual and evening looks alike. Also love the faux fur scarf version.
  • The cables on this classic crewneck sweater are perfect. (And on sale!) Pair with this cashmere beanie that's so good I own it in multiple colors.
  • These heels remind me of my Jimmy Choos (worn here) for a fraction of the price.
  • I have this clutch in green, but the brown is beautiful!
