Eyelet Obsessed

We popped down to South Carolina last week and split the quick trip between Charleston and Johns Island. With a direct flight between Boston and Charleston it's always such an easy trip! One of my favorite pieces I packed for the trip was this eyelet caftan from Tuckernuck. I've waxed poetic on how good their private label pieces are in the past, and this caftan is no exception - laid-back but glam and super comfortable. Perhaps the magic of a piece like this is it looks good on everyone, whether you're 22 or 72. With a longer hemline and long sleeves, it's the perfect piece to make you feel spring-y while still covering up quite a bit on a chilly evening. The bodice is lined to the knee, and I love that the sleeves and knee down are unlined to really show off the eyelet pattern. The cut is roomy enough glide over your curves or hide a tummy after a big meal, but is nicely fitted through the shoulders and reveals your wrists and ankles, which keeps a piece like this from overwhelming your figure. They made a similar style in olive green last year that I absolutely loved, and I'm so glad they brought it back in a new color! (I am wearing an XXS, which is one size smaller than my usual size. If you have broader shoulders or are busty I'd recommend ordering your normal size.)

The dress is a statement in itself and only needs a few finishing touches, including these chic drop white sapphire earrings, my go-to tennis bracelet (such a steal! full blog post here), a wicker bag and barely there heels.

Below you'll find an early spring edit of the best eyelet styles from around the web!

  • I love a touch of eyelet or embroidery on a white shirt and this one has been a favorite of mine for years, and I'm also eyeing this short sleeve top to wear with high waisted jeans.
  • Ralph Lauren always has a beautiful selection of eyelet pieces each season, and the brand kindly sent me this set and it is gorgeous! Both top and bottom are unlined so definitely meant as beach coverups, though I'll probably be wearing the top with chino shorts or jeans this season too!
  • I love this soft feminine take on a shirtdress, plus it's on major sale!
  • While not technically eyelet, this pretty straw bag is in the same spirit.
  • Cartolina is so good at eyelet pieces, and in addition to this coverup I wore in the Bahamas, I love this eyelet skirt and this swingy top!
  • Butter yellow is spring's "IT" color and if you don't think you can pull it off next to your face (I don't think I can) I recommend a pretty yellow skirt like this one with a white button down and espadrilles!
  • This flax eyelet sundress says spring in the countryside!
  • Navy eyelet pieces are practical for early spring but will feel patriotic come summer when paired with a red lip or handbag. I love this column dress and this midi skirt!
  • This black eyelet shirtdress is so elegant, and will be your go-to office look with a belt and heels this summer.
  • This tailored eyelet jacket is such a stunning piece that will elevate casual or evening looks. Pair with the matching shorts for a chic spring look.
  • OK, they did a terrible job styling the model, but this sweet trench (under $100!) would look amazing with a white tee, cropped white denim, and ballet flats.
  • This bohemian top would look great with this season's flared denim.
  • This peach colored eyelet maxi dress is a stunner for casual dinner dates or spring's special events! (Comes in black too! Swoon!)
  • These white eyelet napkins are in my cart and have me yearning for summer dinners in the backyard as I serve strawberry shortcake on blue and white plates. Would also be perfect for your easter table!
