Green is Good Smoothie Recipe


Starting your day with a blood sugar balancing breakfast is one of the best things you can do for your metabolic health and I love whipping up a smoothie rich in fiber, healthy fats, protein and micronutrients on busy mornings.
 
The USDA recommended daily fiber intake between 22-34 grams a day, but Levels advisors all recommend closer to 50 grams a day. I like to start my day with at least 15 grams of fiber and lean on hearty helpings of chia seeds and flax in my smoothie to help me get as close to 50 grams/day as possible, plus a scoop of BeWellbyKelly protein powder to get in ~25 grams of protein at breakfast.  
 
 
Green is Good Smoothie Recipe
 
2 handfuls of fresh (or frozen) spinach 
3 tbsp organic chia seeds 
1 tbsp organic whole flax seeds
1 heaping tbsp almond butter
1 scoop BeWellbyKelly protein powder
1/2 banana
1/3 cup wild blueberries
1/3 c grass-fed whole milk 
add water to taste
 
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend for 15-25 seconds. Drink to your good health and enjoy! 
 
 
Favorite blender: We’ve had several blenders over the years and the NutriBullet is my favorite for it’s sleek shape, small footprint that doesn’t take up too much space on your counter, plus I love how it gets my smoothies super smooth. It’s so much less expensive than other brands like Vitamix and the mixing container is easy to drink from so you don’t even have to dirty a second glass if you don’t want to. We also love making homemade salad dressings and sauces in the Nutribullet – we seriously use this appliance every single day.
