A received a DM asking what my go-to uniform was for early spring in New England. Whether I'm running errands, out on a dog walk, or working at my desk - this casual combination is one of my go-to's for feeling dressed for the day yet still incredibly comfortable. A few key components:
A slouchy sweater - I'm done with deep winter's turtlenecks and reach for polos or crewnecks the most in early spring. My collection of aran sweaters are a 4 season staple for me, and I also love these "Marin" sweaters (seen here, 10% off with "Stacie10"), my favorite cable crewneck (size up), and Tuckernuck cashmere are my favorites. (Tuckernuck always has amazing cashmere at such an awesome price point - full blogpost here!)
90's Jeans - Slightly high-waisted but relaxed through the thigh, I love a pair of 90's denim. The two pairs I'm wearing the most this spring are this light wash button fly version and this white pair. I know what before Memorial Day isn't for everyone, but I love a white jean in early spring as they make even your wooliest sweaters feel fresh for the season.
Tennis bracelet - This tennis bracelet is such a chic little addition to almost any look. Friends always ask if it was a splurgy anniversary gift, but it's actually under $400. Read my full review here!
A great tote - Belted bags are major this spring, and I love their classic lines. My Romy Tote was kindly gifted by Tory Burch and looks like a luxury designer bag with a much more wallet-friendly price point. From the lux suede (also comes in leathers), to the rich folds and extra long belt with a small gold clasp, it's a chic modern style with timeless appeal. I am obsessed with the large tote, but they also offer it in smaller version and a bucket bag. The Romy collection is not a part of Tory Burch's spring sale but if you add anything from the sale (my picks here) to your cart with my Romy tote you'll automatically get the highest discount percentage on the sale pieces!
My trusty Barbour - Perhaps my most-worn item of clothing, you can't beat the functionality and wind protection of a classic Barbour jacket. This time of year I like to balance the fabric's moody olive hue by pairing it with lighter, neutral colors.
Slip on shoes - I always have a pair or two of easy slip-on shoes right by the door, and these boat shoes are my current go-to pair. I'm thrilled that boat shoes are trending this spring and this easy, nautical take on a loafer is both a preppy staple and massively practical. I've had several Sperrys throughout the decades, and am excited to have a fresh pair especially as we anticipate putting our boat in the water in a few weeks! Other favorites include these slides , these feminine raffia mules, and these driving moccasins! All so chic and the perfect foundation for a casual off-duty look!
