Our Christmas Decorations
Merry Christmas Eve! Wanted to share a few snaps of our Christmas decorations before the festivities get underway. Since we’re staying in New Hampshire and won’t be going home for the holidays I wanted to make sure our home was extra festive this year. Even though our celebrations will be much smaller than usual we’re focusing on making the most of our first year in our new home – fingers crossed our snow sticks around until tomorrow!
Our living room is the most “done” of all our rooms and love how all the greenery – from the tree to our pots of poinsettias – fill in the undecorated parts. ? Most everything transitioned easily from our NYC apartment (sources here) with the very happy addition of these gorgeous custom lamps by Hwang Bishop (you can customize down to the base finish and cord color!), a few tartan pillows I had made from the same fabric they use at the Polo Bar in Manhattan, and a sisal rug to help our antique Heriz carpet fit the space better.
I aside from the look of fresh greenery I love the smell and had so much fun creating “garlands” for our mantles with my spoils from our visit to Snug Harbor Farm in Kennebunkport a few weekends ago. We only use the wood burning stove in our cabin out back so I decided to fill our fireplaces in the main house with poinsettias which are so festive and pretty! Since the red leaves make such a statement I chose to keep the living room garland simple, and love how it frames the painting above and our monogrammed velvet stockings by Fig and Dove below. Our monogram was hand-drawn by an artist at Matouk for our master bedding, and Fig and Dove was able to embroider it on their stockings – so special! And these acrylic stocking holders are the chicest I’ve seen.
It was an honor to work with Wedgwood on a collaboration this season (which goes live on Christmas day) and that’s why you see so many beautiful Jasperware style ornaments and pots throughout our space, as well as this set of fabulous “Winter White” mugs. French blue (aka Wedgwood blue) is my favorite color and a theme throughout all of our rooms, so I was thrilled to add so many new Jasperware pieces to our holiday decor this year.
You can see our Christmas decor from years past here. Now I’m off to bake for tomorrow and prep the fondue!
