While I packed three pairs of shoes for my most recent trip to Portugal, Provence, and Mallorca I spent 95% of my time wearing this pair of Grecian-inspired sandals by Sarah Flint. ( Proof here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here…I think you get it. : ) From maxi dresses to white cropped jeans and everything in between the Grear sandal is the perfect summer shoe. I walk A LOT when traveling, often clocking 5-8 miles a day and these sandals were up to the task. Comfy, versatile and easy to pack they’re possibly the only pair of shoes you need on vacation. I love the full leather sole, which didn’t get destroyed at the toe (even over three weeks of heavy use on cobblestone streets) which has often been a problem with other sandals. If I had to wear one pair of shoes for the rest of the summer these would be it! And to think I wasn’t really fond of them when I first saw them!
Each pair of Sarah Flint’s famous Grear sandals is handmade of beautiful Vachetta leather on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. I say famous, because The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has been wearing them for years (even before she started dating Prince Harry!), and each time she steps out in her saddle brown pair they almost instantly sell out. Most of my summer wardrobe has some white in it so this pair was perfect for me, as an added bonus, the bright white offsets a tan nicely!
If you read my full packing post for this trip you’ll know that I also brought along a pair of espadrille loafers and bow heels. I mostly wore the espadrilles on the plane since they’re warmer and easy to get on and off at security, and the heels for some of our fancier dinners. But as you can tell from the pictures in the orange wrap dress below the Grear sandals can definitely go from day to night.
If you’re still looking to invest in a summer sandal I’d like to suggest that you’ll get the lowest CPW (cost per wear) from Sarah Flint’s Grear sandal and reach for them again and again.
