If anyone told me at the end of last year what 2020 would hold for all of us I would have never believed it. Yet as wild as our times seem, I’ve also marveled at how quickly we adapt to our new normal, and few have pivoted as quickly to keep us feeling chic in these ever changing times than Marta Scarampi.
I first featured Torino-based slow-fashion brand Marta Scarampi in March right as Italy was put into lockdown. At that time, they specialized in gorgeous, sustainable, made-to-order capes. As lockdown eased in their country and the seamstresses were able to return to their sewing machines, founding sisters Marta and Lucia examined how they spent their time during quarantine and what their customers would need in this new era, which birthed this ingenious Deco Travel Jumpsuit Collection for when you need to fly during a pandemic as well as a Cotton Collection of breezy outfits that come with matching face masks. The founders asked me to help them capture photos of their newest collection so you will see a familiar face when you land on their site! : )
Two favorites from the summer collection include this comfortable Delicia Dress and the Leila Shirt below, both of which come with matching face masks that can take you from zoom calls at home to your outdoor dinner reservation. The Delicia Dress is cut just right and made of beautiful checked Italian cotton which is incredibly soft and breathable for balmy summer days. I love the little bow details on the 3/4 sleeves and wearing the matching face mask as we walk through a restaurant on the way to our table. Handmade in Torino using 100% Italian organic cotton, this dress is incredibly flattering and soft to touch — the perfect summer dress for any occasion.
Another favorite is the Leila Shirt, whose tailored silhouette looks amazing tucked into high-waisted trousers or shorts, or could be worn with pajama bottoms on a zoom call and no-one would be the wiser! Also made from organic Italian cotton in my favorite color scheme of blue and green, it’s an effortless piece to wear around the house or out and about when paired with the matching mask!
