Summer’s Best Dresses to Shop Now

Stacie Flinner Zimmermann Green Picnic Dress-3.jpg

When it’s too hot to think, reaching for a effortlessly fun and flattering dress is a no-brainer. Whether you’re planning to spend an afternoon picnicking, getting ready for a date night, or heading to a wedding I’ve rounded up the best dresses for every event on your calendar.

  • I probably got the most compliments on this green dress (on sale!) during our trip to Italy and France. Effortless, flattering and fun, it was perfect for drinks in Positano and dinner in Saint Tropez! The ruched bust means you may not need to wear a bra which is ideal on summer’s hottest days!
  • This linen dress is such a steal at $160. Mine is arriving tomorrow in time for a New England getaway, and would look so chic with a fun bag like this!
  • I’m obsessed with this strapless blue and white column dress which would be perfect for date nights or a wedding guest dress! Pair with comfy gold stilettos (yes, there is such a thing and they’re on sale!) for an outfit you can dance all night in.
  • I’m such a sucker for Liberty prints and this halterneck style is only $134 and super flattering.
  • This timeless square neck silhouette is an effortless summer style that reminds me of Oscar de la Renta for 1/4 the price. I just ordered my first piece from the brand and will let you know what I think! (But their styles seem to sell out quickly (this print and this one are almost gone!) so I’d snap things up if you see something you love!)
  • You guys have been LOVING this striped maxi dress and I’m right there with you. I wore it in Saint-Tropez and again in Italy last week with Sarah Flint and took this photo after driving for 5 hours in a car and it still looks fab.
  • This elevated take on patchwork would look lovely for a nice dinner in the countryside, a wedding, or a vacation in Tuscany!
  • Olive green might be my favorite color to wear, and this eyelet caftan will look fresh right now with white espadrilles, and work well through September when paired with rich camel colored accessories.
  • My girlfriend wore this dress to dinner a couple weeks ago and it looked phenomenal on her! (She’s 5’1″ and the model is 5’10” – so flattering whatever your height!)
  • This bold red and white striped dress makes me crave a day full of lighthouses, lobster rolls and lawn games. Perfect for July 4th festivities and beyond! (Would be so chic with these platform sandals!)
  • The blue of this dress would be perfect for a Mediterranean getaway.
  • Denim dresses are so underrated and this one has the perfect relaxed vibe for summer days. Pair with a market tote for a Saturday farmer’s market or throw a cable knit sweater over your shoulders for an afternoon picnic.
  • Loving this sun soaked floral maxi dress from one of my favorite vacation wear brands.
  • I wore this bright blue dress for a dinner in Italy on the Sarah Flint trip last week and it’s so comfortable and fab! The knit is just thick enough to smooth over your figure and looks insanely chic with these blue floral heels!
  • Few dresses can be worn to the office and also look perfect on vacation but this brown tie-waisted number is your closet’s secret weapon!

    Hi Stacey,

I just wanted to express my gratitude for the amazing content you bring to a post.
I really appreciate how you introduce us to new designers who have a classic and modest style. Mariana Zelenujuk actually recommended following your Instagram about a year ago.

Today I ordered the Betty dress in Moss Petaluma from Julia Amory, and back in April, I used your code to order the Sabrina dress in linen floral from Cartolina that I wore for a lovely family photo while vacationing in Charleston.

I’m also excited that you discovered Yotam Ottolenghi’s cafes and shared the French bean salad recipe. I’ve tried one of his recipes before, and they’re quite elaborate. Your discovery has encouraged me to try more of his recipes.

It’s interesting to think about who is following you.
Just to share a bit about me, I’m a 61-year-old married woman who loves personal growth and elevating my style. I live with my handsome husband 🙂 of 42 years in Northern California.

    Thanks again for everything!

    Best regards,
    Lisa Raposa
