The White Jeans Your Closet Needs this Spring
While white denim was once exclusively considered a summer staple, only to be worn from Memorial Day to Labor Day, that old fashioned rule has been tossed out and white denim is now rightfully a year-round staple. And thank goodness, as I find white jeans are especially handy when transitioning my wardrobe from winter to spring. A nice bright white pair looks warm-weather ready, while also providing a bit of coverage and much needed warmth if you’re still waiting for nice weather to arrive. Pair them with hues like brown or navy now, and pastels and tropical hues as the temperatures rise. While there are many cuts to choose from, these J.Crew high waisted white denim trousers are a standout favorite for the weeks and months ahead.
Since having a baby I need jeans to work a *little* harder for me to feel my best, and these jeans really do the job. The high waist sucks you in, the fabric is cut just-so through the hips and thigh to flatter your bum and the gentle flare of the pant leg creates a bit of volume that - by comparison - makes your waist look smaller. I just love them! (And no, they're not see through.)
Two tips for styling these perfect white jeans:
- I like to wear wide leg pants with a small heel to ensure they don't puddle on the ground and give me the most figure elongating look. These jeans work with pointed toe booties or slingbacks now, or low heeled sandals later. Just never pair with a round toe! It will shorten the look of your legs.
- Tuck in your top to make the line of your waist as high as possible. Whether you go for a silk blouse, or tucking the front of a voluminous sweater, the goal is to reveal the full length of the pant from waist to hem. Leaving your top untucked will cut you in half making you look shorter and wider.
