Each month, I find myself saving pieces that feel especially right for the season ahead—those thoughtful finds that make getting dressed, hosting, and everyday moments feel a little more special. April always brings such a fresh wave of inspiration, from airy eyelet dresses and polished staples to wear now, to practical pieces for time in the garden and the first warm weekends by the water. I’ve also been delighted by a few beautiful collaborations between favorite brands, along with timeless essentials I’m stocking up on now so they’re ready when summer arrives. Consider this a curated look at everything catching my eye this month—pieces to wear, enjoy, and reach for all season long.
- A pair of excellent white shorts are a closet MVP, and these beautifully tailored. (I'm wearing a size UK 8.) Wear them with a drapey top and chic flats like I did above, this striped linen blouse and leather slides, or a simple silk camisole and statement blazer for dinner.
- The halter neckline on this sweet gingham midi creates such a graceful silhouette. It is perfectly breathable for the hottest afternoons, and a go-to choice for weekend farmers' markets or a casual patio lunch.
- Wedding season is upon us and I've seen so many stunning dresses for guests, from this silk maxi dress to this jacquard strapless gown that looks like a Markarian gown I own for a fraction of the price.
- Every warm weather wardrobe needs a delicate base layer that can keep up with a summer routine of sand, swimming, and showers, and both this emerald cut necklace (swoon!) and my beloved bezel-set pendant are up to the task. They catch the sunlight beautifully and pair effortlessly with everything from basic tees to formal gowns. You'll never have to take them off.
- Lilly Pulitzer is a preppy summer staple and after watching Sirens last summer, I think I need a dress or two. Their amazing spring sale is on now with so many gorgeous styles, from this floral maxi dress to this layered eyelet shift dress to this blue Bermuda bag. Since these pieces make such a statement, I'd pair them with sleek accessories.
- After planting my pots I realized I needed better footwear for muddy days in the garden and ordered these in a flash. (Currently 20% off, through midnight tonight!)
- This chunky cardigan with a charming sailboat motif just dropped today and is guaranteed to go fast!
- This airy crochet bucket hat I'm wearing above is so perfect for keeping the sun off your face. It really works with everything from shorts to sundresses (as seen here) and is a nice alternative to my trusty straw hat.
- What a gorgeous silk floral brooch to pin onto your favorite sun hat or the neckline of a sundress. The magenta hue adds the perfect pop of color and texture to summer outfits, but all of her brooches are stunning.
- I love the vibrant coastal motif on this silk shirt and matching shorts for the warmer months ahead. (For just a touch of pattern, tie this silk scarf in your hair!)
- Beach days call for a reliable carryall, and this striped straw tote fits the bill perfectly. It easily holds your sunscreen and a good book, looking incredibly chic next to a colorful beach towel. Alternatively, this hunter green tote will feel right at home at a New England lake house, and would look fab with this chocolate brown coverup!
- Coastal weekend trips call for these incredibly comfortable suede boat shoes. I'm bringing a pair to Nantucket later this month, and they deliver sneaker-like support with elevated nautical style. Similarly, you simply cannot go wrong with a traditional leather loafer for long days on the water. (Currently on sale!) These slip-ons are unbelievably durable and I love that they dry quickly after getting wet.
- This crisp eyelet dress will be on heavy rotation in the coming months. A few friends own this dress in different fabrics and it looks amazing on everyone. Wear it to your next garden party, graduation ceremony, or dinner! I also love this simple eyelet shift dress for casual summer days.
- A beautifully set table makes every meal feel special, and two of my favorite brands Cabana and Ralph Lauren, collaborated on the most beautiful table linens for summer entertaining. These vintage-inspired floral and batik tablecloths are crafted from pure cotton with lovely border details. It is exactly what you need for hosting long, leisurely outdoor dinners all summer. Plus, these charming cocktail napkins add such a homey, coastal touch to drinks on the patio.
- Finding the absolute perfect denim shorts is notoriously difficult, but I just ordered these from a favorite denim brand with high hopes. They anchor at the waist and provide just the right amount of length. I will be living in them with striped tees and simple sandals, and watching for a restock of these in white!
- I am entirely smitten with the square bodice of this romantic eyelet dress. (It has a smocked back for comfort!) Dress it up with strappy sandals for bridal showers, or wear it casually with simple flats.
