Your Favorites & Mine from September

Stacie Flinner Polo Ralph Lauren Patchwork Blazer-11.jpg

I thought it would be helpful to look back on my most worn items from the last month, as well as the pieces you got most excited about as well. It’s no surprise that both your favorites and mine feature well-made wardrobe staples in neutral colors that can be worn in a myriad of ways. Many of my most-worn pieces are featured in the outfit I’m wearing above which is from a country walk in the Cotswolds a couple weeks ago. From a beautiful everyday tennis bracelet to incredible jeans, to the perfect autumnal dress here’s a round up of September’s best-sellers that will carry you through the autumn and winter months in style!

My 7 September Favorites: The most-used pieces in my wardrobe from September!

  1. Dorsey Tennis Bracelet – This is such a chic little addition to almost any look. When I met up with Sarah Flint in Ireland she immediately asked if it was a special anniversary gift. Read my full review here!
  2. Sarah Flint Perfect Zip Bootie 30mm – These low heeled suede boots are an autumn no brainer and look phenomenal with the frame denim above. (The top of the boot fits perfectly under the hem of the jeans, and the shoe’s almond toe and close fit is visually light and flattering.) They really are all-day comfortable if you’ll be on your feet a lot, and the right espresso hue is durable, timeless but also a favorite of the season.
  3. Sezane Shoulder Bag – I reach for crossbody bags a lot in the fall and winter months, and this one is beautifully made, especially for the price. (Under $500.) I love the soft taupe color which worked so well with many of my outfits as you can see on my outfit above.
  4. Tuckernuck Cashmere Emma Sweater – Tuckernuck has been absolutely nailing it in the cashmere department and this V-neck sweater has been my go-to layer all month. The sleeves have a slight dolman cut to them (also called bat sleeves) which feels really lux when worn on its own, and is really comfortable when layered under blazers and coats. The V is just right (not to high, not too low) and the knit is super soft. It’s currently sold out in 3 colors (black is available) but I just received an order of new Tuckernuck Cashmere I’ll be featuring in the next week or so, and recommend this, this and this!
  5. Frame Denim – These jeans were immediately my most-worn pair. I took them on our trip to England and Ireland and wore them nonstop, and they do not bag out in the knee. Amazing! The fit is super flattering and the wash goes with almost anything. Sure they’re a pricey pair of denim, but if you wear them as much as I do the cost-per-wear is worth it.
  6. Aquazurra Slingbacks – These minimalist kitten heels go with everythnig from dresses to trousers. The tortoise patent leather coordinates with brown, navy or black outfits and the single strap over the toe really elongates your legs. Yes they’re an investment, but they’re also something you’ll love for years to come.
  7. Little English Olive Baby Coat – This precious quilted baby coat has been our go-to all month both on our trip to England and at home – it’s the perfect layer for fall days. Our little boy is 8 months old and wearing the 12 month size, so definitely size up one or two sizes for the best fit.

Your 7 September Favorites: Best-selling styles from the month of September!

  1. Autumn Floral Dress – This versatile beauty is under $200 and perfect for all your autumn events from date nights to country weddings. The fit is really flattering and the floral fabric is gorgeous – pair with brown accessories like I did here.
  2. Talbots Suede Trench Coat – I just shared this coat yesterday but it’s already in September’s best sellers, and today only Talbots is offering a surprise 40% off sitewide! The cut is amazing and the suede is so luxurious. It will instantly elevate all your fall outfits – see how I styled it here!
  3. J.Crew Factory Cotton-cashmere Polo – This piece is almost sold out, but if they still have your size left it’s on sale for only $25. (WHAT!?) The super soft cashmere-cotton blend is an affordable staple that is as easy as a t-shirt but will upgrade everything from your school drop off uniform to office looks (love it with the corduroy trousers below as seen here). This polo was the gateway drug to taking a second look at J.Crew Factory, and just received another order that includes lots of fab fall staples including a super soft cotton flannel shirt in green plaid and red plaid (I sized up for an oversized fit), this pair of black jeans (size up), and lots of awesome things for David like this olive donegal blazer, these boots and this plaid button-down.
  4. Charlotte Brody Bootcut Jean – These jeans are ultra flattering and will give you legs for days. Today is the last day to get them for 15% off with code “Stacie15”, and you can see how I styled them with other Charlotte Brody favorites here!
  5. J.Crew Relaxed Emilie Cardigan – The cool-girl version of J.Crew’s best-selling cardigan, I love the more relaxed shape that looks fabulous with the Mother jeans above.
  6. Sarah Flint O'Neil Loafer Slide – When this flat went on sale you all went nuts – and with good reason. The perfect preppy loafer with an effortless slide silhouette is a wardrobe staple you’ll find you leave by the door and wear everyday. I never fail to get compliments when I wear this shoe and if you hurry, it’s still 30% off with code “ITSAPARTY” but the discount ends today!)
  7. J.Crew Long Barn Jacket – This tattersal long barn jacket’s beautiful check reads like a solid and is the perfect causal topper to all your autumn looks. Since it features several neutrals in the plaid this jacket truly goes with anything, and is the finishing touch to your sweater and denim uniform as seen here.
